Nice discovery that @Fire. Do you have a plan for both?

One New Dawn will go to a neighbour. The New New Dawn I have potted up and will keep an eye on. It has a good root system already so it would take fast. Has anyone else had roses layering of their devices?

It can happen.. those types of roses strike easily from cuttings, so it's not surprising they root by layering..

No, not my garden.. that was at Mannington, Norfolk.  I can't remember what type of tree that is..

I had it with a Dr Van Fleet - which I think (though my thunks are normally wrong!) is somehow related to New Dawn.  If it isn't I am sure someone will correct me.

I was actually really pleased to find it - as digging up the Dr VF was not an easy job and the roots had gone under a wall and a rockery, so by the time I got it out, it was not saveable.

I rather stupidly didn't label a cutting I just stuck in the ground near my 'Blue for You' but I presumed it was a cutting from the that rose. However it bloomed recently and was completely white not a blueish tinge. Does anybody know what the parentage of Blue for You is?

Incidentally, the Blue for You rose has gone bananas this year and has reached at least 6 ft, if not 7 ft high which I'm very pleased about as it's waving to me over the terrace wall and I can now see it from the house. It matches the wisteria beautifully which still has the odd bloom on it - in September!

    Not a post about roses…
I got so inspired by @Tack ‘s fairy ring that I decided to create something similar in my garden. Next spring there will be some expectations vs reality photos 😅

My Blue for You had no white flowers on its second flush this season @Lizzie27 @WAMS 🙂

Glad to hear it's doing so well for you @Lizzie27
