Here’s Sir Water Raleigh in the rays of the morning sun. beautiful rose but I really don’t like its scent… it’s supposed to be myrrh, like Boscobel. And yet I find Boscobel’s scent amazing and SWR’s scent is bleh…
Nothing spectacular from me, just scattered blooms in the main..

The Prince, not crisping now, but is but is it worth keeping a rose that’s only good for a month either side of summer? I’m pretty handy with the shovel, normally, but this one has me torn..
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
All very lovely roses... too dry here once again, I just dug a hole and the soil is like dust.
..but, what a lovely September, every day around low 20'sC, and the nights no lower than 10c.. The Equinox is with us next weekend, so a new thread next Friday. If anyone else would like to take over, just say, you're more than welcome. Meanwhile..
..the delicious 'Mme. Falcot'.. ..rather lovely thorns to match.. 'Marie Pavie'.. 'Sophie's Perpetual'.. 'Lady of Shalott' / Ceratostigma.. 'Scented Garden'.. Salvia 'Nachtvlinder'.. I have come to like this plant.. Phlox 'Sweet Summer Lilac'..
I'm pleased with Graham Thomas in its first year. The allotment roses have to fend for themselves! It's got a nice second flush going with plenty of buds and also a massive whopper of a basal cane
Quick question - when does everyone stop feeding their roses - is it about now or do I continue till after the second flush. Greatly appreciate your wisdom on this so I am not continually to feed the pots etc un-necessarily.
I used up all my liquid seaweed extract last weekend so that is it for feeding this year for me. (Also applied Empathy rose food back in spring and in July.)
Lovely roses all — your Penelope photos are very tempting @Tack and @WAMS, wish I had more space in the garden!
The second flush of most roses is almost done here and they've already started losing their leaves in preparation of autumn. I am hoping for rain tomorrow; just before that I wanted to deadhead and clear up the debris from the pots and I still haven't started. I have spent quite a bit of time just sitting down and watching the birds, bees and roses 😜
A few photos taken today: Crown Princess Margareta Vanessa Bell The Oddfellows rose Blush noisette Red Finesse The Pilgrim - behaves more like a shrub rose rather than a climber. Walferdange - love the bubble gum pink, but very few flowers as it is in the shade most of the day. Tess of the d'Urbervilles - many flowers facing my neighbour. The Lark Ascending Sweet Honey - almost continuously in flower. Claire Austin Evelyn May

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
Your Nachtvlinder looks rather better behaved than mine, Marlorena. Mine sprawls and roots all over the place and would choke everything in sight if I let it.
I’m clearly ahead of the game here in my bare root orders having already placed an order with Guillot, but got itchy fingers again when I saw a German site had my unicorn Austin. 8 of them, allegedly..
Lions-Rose is ‘Champagne Moment’, Spotlight is a new Kordes and I have a cunning plan for my second Soul..
