Stay safe, Marlorena. What is the adorable pink clematis on the obelisk at the bottom, please?

@Rojas no other discontinued Austins there unfortunately lol. Which ones are you still after? I am tempted by Teasing Georgia on giftaplant but haven't succumbed...

WOO Hoo Dahlias in already @Marlorena!

I am off to Berlin next week for 7 days, so think I will plant mine out once I get back.  I need to take my mother out to meet one of her friends tomorrow.  She wants to go to the GC where I was caught short and ended up with the Gertrude Jekyll.  I hope I manage to get out without any purchases - but you never know.

Stay safe indeed, Marlorena. The weather is all rather bizarre everywhere. We had the warmest April on record here, close to 30c at one point, while there you are experiencing flash floods in one of the dryer parts of the UK. Finger’s crossed there is not too much damage out there..

It will be interesting to see what DAs are available in Europe next season. I have a feeling they were banning propagation of their discontinued lines if the nurseries wanted the new ones and there was a rumour they weren’t allowed to bud standards either..

Oh I'd forgotten to share this. It was actually the highlight of the weekend (sorry Chaz!)

Witnessed one of our new bees (raised last year and overwintered) checking out of the hotel.
This is amazing! Can I ask what did you use to make your video of the bee?

@edhelka - that was exactly the one I was looking at, but your link is at a better price than I had seen.  I also want to paint it as it is going into a potentially shady area with a grey granite wall behind and I love the way you have bespoke the colour of yours.

    All ordered up now.

We're just getting the deluge now. Good job we're on a hill so it runs off quite quickly - as long as it doesn't take the house with it!  No thunder yet though.

  • Just to let you know I have been informed that with regards to the 2 new DA roses, the first will be unveiled at The Chelsea Flower Show and the second at Hampton Court.

@WAMS I am after all nicely scented old Austin roses. I am looking forward to Trevor White's stock next year and I am hoping to get some nice ones.

@Nollie If DA ban to propagate their older roses then it'll be a real bad news. I will be sad as those lovely roses will be lost forever. :( Hopefully some nurseries will choose to only sell older varieties like TW.
