..as Mary Berry once said.. ''Chandos Beauty is such a lovely rose''..  I'm not sure how many she's familiar with, but couldn't disagree with that..

Yes I know what you mean, I'm also very careful to avoid other properties or cars in my pictures..

You may be one of the few people in the country growing alba odorata... does it show climbing tendencies for you? and is it sweetly scented, as I understand it to be..  are you able to get a photo of its foliage sometime? I'd like to see it.. thanks..

..thanks or taking the trouble... the leaves are not as deep green as I expected to see, for a bracteata hybrid but I note you are also having problems with yellowing foliage, as I am.. probably due to cool weather I think, as much as anything..

Interesting observations.. the scent sounds rather nice and it's bounced back well from the winter..  a most unusual variety..

I think it may be a Rosa x odorata chinensis/ gigantea hybrid. It looks and behaves more like Hume's Blush Tea-Scented China is supposed to than anything else, though not sure it is an exact match based on the photos I have seen. I think different, related roses are sold under the same name, so it may be a form of it. https://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=2.3341

I've just had another long catching up session. So many beautiful roses and some I haven't heard of.

One little request - please would you write the roses' names in full, most of you do, but there are some that only the initials are given and I wanted to know their names.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
