Omg this is soooo hard. Got penelope, sadly fairly recent but has buds, then torn between PAOK, Desdemona and Noble anthony which i dont know. Anyone familiar?
I now have Desdemona and PAOK and I prefer Desdemona personally. Foliage on PAOK doesn't look particularly healthy on mine.
@JessicaS , *unsubstantiated Facebook gossip alert* there is a rumour that a lot more were for the chop next year incl good sellers like Lady of Shalott and Gertrude, but they may hold off due to the displeasure they incurred after taking a great swinging axe to the catalogue last autumn. Apparently, they don't make so much money on standards either and those are being reconsidered, too. Why don't you have a chat to a gardener at DA if you see him or her?

I would get PAoK as mine was blooming in December and I love the massive blooms which last a good week inside, too. But I don't have the others- maybe they're just as good
Thank you @WAMS thats super helpful! PAOK wins out of that and Noble Anthony then. Hubby has offered to get PAOK and Desdemona as well as Penelope from MIL so Im very happy!! There are some lovely standards, but none of the ones I was eying. The Harlow Carrs are stunning standards. No mill on the floss I suspect bare root only now...
I think their decision to discontinue many of the good performers like MW, Jude the Obscure, Lady Emma Hamilton etc. was not a good one. 🥺 Evelyn May is today's star in my garden; it's more orangish rather than the red that shows in this photo. The Wren Pearl of St. Luke looking very similar to the above. Summer Song Crocus rose

Garden has got good potential @WAMS currently all in their respective pots.. tired after all the shifting, so left them for time being..hopefully by next spring will aim to get them on the ground..currently on vacation for 3 weeks, yet I keep checking the local weather every now and then.. fingers crossed they will be ok when I get back🙄
