Another new phone has not worked out so I've sent it back.. so these are mobile phone pictures.. A mix..
'Wilhelm'.. 'Scarborough Fair'.. 'Odelia'.. very healthy rose and a nice sweet scent to go with it.. 'Comtesse Andre...' 'Tottering..' 'Cornelia'.. long wait for 2nd flush this summer.. Crocosmia 'Carmine Brilliant'.. Phlox 'Rembrandt'.. Astrantia 'Roma'..
Amande Paternotte is proving to have the best second flush of my Portlands / Damasks.
Wollerton Old Hall. Great myrrh scent. One of the very few Austins I have. It hasn't spent quite as many days flowering as Stanwell Perpetual but is pretty close.
Mocha Rosa. This flower seems to have a slight pink tinge compared to the usual more fawn colouring.
The wet summer has left pretty much all of my 40 odd roses with black spot at some point. The only ones that have been unblemished are: Rugosa rubra, Rosa villosa, Sweet Briar, Stanwell Perpetual and Belle de Jour. (Most of these are species or species crosses).
Which roses have been free of black spot for you this summer?
Don't grow up - grow sideways.
Gardening in the West Midlands on a mix of neutral loamy sand & Victorian building rubble.
Same here @LateralBreaks 80+ roses and spots evetywhere.
That said, Sweet syrie, its a wonderful life are shockingly blemish free, plus bring me sunshine and the Hulthemias Angel eyes, eyes for you etc (I have several types of hulthemia non of which seem prone) are black spot free by the looks, i think the odd yellow leaves they have lower down are just old leaves or a touch of chlorosis as they dont have the trademark blotches.
Oh and ive ordered a potted "Chocolate Ruffles" because I managed to find one and I love ruffles queen, so unusual...no excuse I just couldnt resist
Madame Alfred Carriere, Darlow’s Enigma, Rose de Rescht (no damask crud either), Marie Pavie and Avalanche Abricot are the only ones that have been blackspot free for me. Astronomia is usually spotless but has some, but on the side Bill the dog pees against so that may have been a factor. Hot and humid summers are a disease challenge to any rose here.
Sawfly devastation and then scorched foliage in an earlier heatwave haven’t helped general health. Many of the laterals and thinner canes on Soul and Stormy Weather espaliered on the metal fence have been burnt off. I may need to start again with those two, chopping right back and replacing the metal with wooden trellis.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Lovely blooms everyone.. I take a peek every now and then but then get busy with new place so not posting much.. (probably good for the wallet ) Few of mine which was not chopped down is producing blooms but not much time to take pics.. Particularly impressed with Sweet delight.. none of them have been fed since 2 months.. probably it's the new DA formula which keeps it going..
a few which did not make the move are Harlow Carr, Natalija, Dark desire, Rosomane Janon and Artemis.. Natalija and Rosomane Janon was a tough call..
Ordered another four from TW to make myself feel better.. wondering how is the repeat for Yolande d'Aragon @Nollie@Discandied@Jemula
Lots of vegetative growth but only the one bud for the rebloom so far @cooldoc . That's pretty typical for my roses this year, however - I think the lack of sun and abundant rain is responsible.
Most of my roses have blackspot, but I don't bother too much. HT roses, I think, are very prone to BS - worst ones are Louis de Funes and the Macmillan rose. DA roses seem to be less affected - exception is Summer Song.

Sure, here are 10 rose varieties that are well-suited for growing in the UK:
David Austin Roses: Known for their fragrance and old-fashioned charm, varieties like 'Gertrude Jekyll' and 'Munstead Wood' are popular choices.
'Queen Elizabeth': A classic pink hybrid tea rose with a long flowering season.
'Graham Thomas': A vibrant yellow English rose that is highly disease-resistant.
'Mary Rose': Another David Austin creation, this rose offers a soft pink hue and a strong fragrance.
'Winchester Cathedral': A white rose with a delicate scent, fitting for a serene garden setting.
'Lady Emma Hamilton': A unique apricot-orange rose with a strong fragrance and disease-resistant properties.
'Iceberg': A popular floribunda rose with clusters of white blooms that flower prolifically.
'Munstead Wood': A dark red English rose with a strong fragrance and good disease resistance.
'The Generous Gardener': A pale pink climbing rose with a myrrh-like scent, suitable for trellises or arches.
'Scepter'd Isle': Another English rose, this one offers a delicate pink hue and a lovely myrrh fragrance.
Remember to consider your local climate, soil conditions, and the specific needs of each rose variety when choosing the best ones for your garden. 😂
