@Alfie_ I have already posted this link on the previous thread. I believe this is Munstead Wood as per the Reference though they have advertised as Fragrant Old Purple. They take orders by phone and please ask the lady whether this is Munstead Wood before you place it. They source the roses from the nursery in Surrey and I really hope still there are stocks. Good luck https://www.giftaplant.com/shop/CHINA_20TH/Rosmunwood9
Following the tip on the rose thread I contacted Gift-a-plant re MW. I don't think the featured roses are Munstead Wood, despite the rose code and the picture. It seems GaP have got some wires crossed somewhere. I ordered a couple of the plants and they were in a shocking state - one pretty much dead. I sent them back and got a full refund. I wouldn't risk it and would stick to buying from rose specialists.
I’m on holiday in Turkey for a week and hoping to find more growth on my roses when I get home. Meanwhile, thought I’d share these photos of an enormous Rosa banksiae at my hotel (and there were four others like this).
@WAMS yes it’s Bill 😊 I can so see Smudge and Jess getting along, busily ‘helping’. Bill is more of a laid back observer.
Welcome @agnasia, ah you have caught the rose bug, there is no return from this point! I don’t think PAoK would be too strong a pink for your scheme but Boscobel might jar a little. I’m trying to think of a mid pink, very fragrant, non-thorny rose suitable for a pot and struggling to meet all those requirements. I can think of a blush white and a strong pink that meets the brief in all other respects except colour!
@Alfie for a big rambler to fill your 6.5x6 outbuilding wall, I think if I had that luxury of space I would choose Albertine, inspired by the fabulous one @JessicaS has eating her shed!
@ElbFee you have been busy, but just think of the summer rewards! Unfortunately I couldn’t grow a clematis on the future arch, much as I would love to, it would just fry in the full sun exposure on a metal arch. A tough, thick-caned, super heat tolerant rose might work, or a solanum, perhaps. I will have a think about that.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Alfie_ I would probably say the bottom row I like for shape and if pushed possibly globular, it’s hard to choose though!
Thank you @Quartz I will step away from that website!
Thanks @Nollie I’ve definitely caught the bug! That’s really helpful re colours, so I will keep PAoK on the list and take Boscobel off. I have a lot of requirements so I guess something will have to give, so please do offer suggestions.
Olivia is described on the DA website as mid pink but in most pictures I’ve seen it looks quite light? I know it’s not as fragrant as others, but does it still have enough of a scent?
Gosh, 40 posts since I last looked here on 5th April!
@WAMS your Lady Emma looks normal. I think the leaves are pretty at this time of year.
@Alfie what about Malvern Hills? I had one at my last house and one here at OH's cottage in Norfolk but it has just died. It was magnificent but very old. I have replaced it with Chevy Chase, a red rambler from Peter Beales.
My handyman, who is taking care of my garden in France, has just sent some photos of my garden. I have a round rose bed that I made and planted in early spring 2022 with 3 white roses, Aspirine, and 3 pink roses, Amica, bought from Promesse des Fleurs. The white ones are doing really well, lots of leaves and growth, but the pink ones are dead. I wonder why.
If a rose has only been planted just over a year and dies do you have to change the soil before planting new roses?
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
@agnasia, Olivia Rose Austin does have some fragrance, I would say medium and nice. Colour is similar to what is shown in DA site. It is lighter than Boscobel and Princess A of K. My view on your shortlist.
Olivia Rose Austin - healthiest and best shape plant, beautiful flowers but not as highly fragrant. Princess Alexandra of Kent - fountain shape so will throw canes which will flop. Flowers are one of the largest in all DAs. Boscobel - Sometimes coral and I like that colour, fragrance is unique, for me mid season defoliates completely and then foliates again and comes back. Now this could be just my garden condition because I have it in a bit crowded situation. Jubilee Celebration - Takes some time to develop, individual flowers nod though they do look good underside as well, like Fuschia flowers. Unique colour and I like its fragrance.

And from the previous thread, my favourite of all the glorious standard roses posted on here- @pitter-patter's Chandos Beauty.
