Trying to catch up here but I Have been super busy the last month at work . I finally took some time this evening for some tidying in the garden. I’m in between flushes and the continuous rain of the last week is causing the usual suspects and the wind had released some canes of the wall so needed to untangle some octopuses . With the rain, there are slugs everywhere. On top of phlox, sage is completely covered.
And planting a rose next to viburnum was also not the brightest.. it is getting munched by beetles.
On a positive note , baron G has 2 new basals ‘ on route’ . Scentimental is definitely exit, what a slow rose.
Looking forward on the report of some of the new acquisitions here in the group .
Emily Bronte... stingy bloomer compared with others. But one of the best scents.
Amazing Day from Styles has gone quite weird again (did last summer too in a different spot). Does anyone else find this quite variable almost to the point of instability? I prefer it when white and pink.
Pope John Paul II from Welling Roses, very very fragrant
The Oxford Physic rose, appropriately in the Oxford botanical gardens. Between flushes, but gives an idea of its growth habit and do on. The flowers are semi-double. They have a few plants of it there, and some specimens have mild blackspot.
Today only I thinkChippendale and BoscobelI cannot understand the retirement of Munstead wood. Literally its only downside for me is ungainly habit, it blooms continously. Olivia Rose Austin and Rose de Rescht behindUtopia is sooo prettyI think Odyssey is a great rose for a unique beauty, scent and health. I get 3 big flushes a year in a pot. Unknown white that is the purest white. I wish I could ID it, no scent is its only failingEasy Does It, Golden Beauty, Faustinia, Desdemona, AbFab and Soul in that lot. Bring Me Sunshine and Joie de Vivre peeking in tooFrom the other side with Wollerton Old hall on the fence
