The rains are doing lots of good to the roses. Almost every one of them has at least a few flowers except for the ones which are done with their second flush. Summer of Love - love the colour combination. Attracts lots of bees and insects too.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
@newbie77 I am not a landscapist or garden designer like many of you in this forum.. mostly will end up putting everything randomly in the ground🙄
After all my design thoughts about what goes with what, height and width, then which one will need more sun etc it got very complicated. So at the end I just separated to two groups - all yellow, orange, red together and all pink, purple, white together. Now there is some odd ones in between because I or TCL had mislabeled some roses. Still enjoyed the process
Lol Nollie; I also get L ones mixed up, as well as all the Bells in my garden. Arthur Bell, Vanessa Bell, Belle de Jour, Lolabelle... and they're all yellow! And within the same area.
I have thrown away Rachel / Auguste Luise (no signs of a second flush), Ebb Tide (whose earlier blooms were evidently a swan song) and Prospero (kind of a rubbish rose to occupy such a sunny spot)... and the spade is sharpening!
Hi, I just wanted to post how pleased I am with my Scented Garden rose from Styles. It had a terrible journey with Parcelforce in the really hot weather we've just had. Was delayed by five days. However, it eventually arrived relatively unscathed. I've pulled off some yellowing leaves and treated it to some iron and nutrients in an aftercare feed. I am already loving the flowers and scent. Thanks in particular to @Marlorena for posting about this rose.
Glad it’s not just me then, but all those yellow els and bells would indeed be confusing, WAMS. I called my OH by the dog’s name recently and they’re not even remotely similar nor even the same colour. She was not impressed!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I do still remember my own name so that’s a bonus 😆
I lost patience with and got rid of Buff Beauty today. A great rose in the UK I’m sure, but here it completely shuts down after a modest early showing of rambler-sized blooms.
Two tough cookies..

@WAMS I rescued my Augusta Luise before the move because of the 1st flush.. now when I think about it, I cant remember it having a good second flush🤔
Looking good, considering the delays.. one of my best roses, I hope it does as well for you..
'Sophie's Perpetual'..
Aster 'Wunder von Stafa'..
'Penelope Lively'..
