Does anyone grow Bring me Sunshine successfully as a freestanding shrub or is it better with support like Marlorena grows it? I’m debating trying it instead of replacing my Golden Celebration. GC does have fabulous scent but also blackspot, needs more space to arch over and can be a bit of a stingy bloomer here. Is BMS an octopus too?
The other yellow I’m considering is called Golden Zest in the US/100 Idées Jardin in France (Mirabella x Golden Celebration).
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
A cutting I had forgotten about (kept alive by the elements!) has bloomed. Not sure what it is- maybe Tess of the d'Urbervilles? I don't have many reds. I just hope its blooming when so small won't harm it... if it were Tess I'd like to keep it alive because my grafted one is not that vigorous and I wouldn't be amazed if it curled up its toes.
Some pictures from today: Sweet Honey starting its second flush 😘 Sandringham - strong fragrance. I think it was @edhelka who posted a picture of this rose last year, which prompted me to get it. The Churchill rose - seems to be single flowers in the second flush. Olivia Rose Austin - a bit tired after the soaking in the rain yesterday. Ever so upright Darcey Bussell with the visitor hiding among her petals. Another pic of Our Beth for @WAMS - looks delicate in soft baby pink, very fragrant. This bunch of 'See you in Purple' is more than 10 days old on the plant in spite of being attacked by vine weevils. Last but not the least, a lovely pink flower of The Oddfellows rose.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
@Nollie GC has got good repeat bloom for me.. may be its the hot summers for you.. regarding BMS- yes it does throw up octopus canes, even in 1st year..
♫ I'm just a girl who cain't say no, I'm in a terrible fix ! ♫
..so sung Ado Annie in 'Oklahoma''.. her problems were with men, ours are roses..
..this is what I've acquired today after a trip to Beales.. 3 for 2..
'Sweet Silouetta'.. a patio rambler from Kordes, on the right.. 'Comtesse Andre d'Oultremont'.. a Lens hybrid musk on the left.. 'Lambada'.. a Kordes floribunda, front..
I had to have Comtesse Andre.. after seeing one in flower, I loved the semi double blooms with a softly sweet scent..
Of the Silouetta range, I originally wanted Lavender Silouetta but found it much too thorny,.. as were the others except 'Sweet Silouetta'.. few thorns, very tiny prickles, nothing more so far.. very pleased with that..
'Lambada' is one I've not heard of so an impulse buy..
Nice looking purchases @Marlorena, especially Comtesse Andre d'Oultremont. It has the looks of GdeF and Phyllis Bide (this from a naive person; pardon me if I'm way off the mark).
I have Lambada, orange flowers, very floriferous that it needed support for the first flush. Also mildewed because of my irregular watering. I was quite late deadheading; only got around to doing it last weekend. So I guess the next flush will be quite late.
Plant shape very similar to Sweet Honey.
