Lovely WAMS, I wish I could grow acid loving shrubs, camellias and rhodos are so impressive.
I don't know what your rose is Elbfee but it is gorgeous, is it scented?
I feel for you Dabolem, I feel betrayed that my roses were showing so much promise and very quickly succumbed to fungal issues. I have picked off loads of leaves and applied SB invigorator and milk spray multiple times, I had an antifungal in my hand at the GC but just couldn't. Easy Does It surprised me with a bloom deep in the plant, deformed though.
To my surprise it looks like variegata di bologna might be the first to bloom?! I wasn’t expecting it to start until the end of may but I spotted this bud today
Each bud has two more buds coming in below just like that one as well, safe to say I am excited for this rose season 😆
Help needed for my Wildfire rose. The second photo is from 15/4/22 and the first from today. This rose was bought bare root in Jan 22 and planted in a pot. Two other roses were bought and potted at the same time. The two other potted roses are doing very well but obviously this one is not, yet all have been treated exactly the same. Is there anything I should be doing to help it survive? All three roses are still in their pots and are in a west-facing sheltered spot. Many thanks for any advice.
I’ve got cheeky starlings pinching the leaves right off my roses! They’ve been at it all day. Think they’ve found a spot to nest in the neighbours roof.
@WAMS - lovely colour on your camellia. Do you grow that in the ground or a pot?
@Nollie - I’m excited for my two new Julia C I got this year after seeing that bloom.
Still nothing on the rose front. Quite a few buds now which is good to see. Gutted that a James G stem didn't want to play ball when I tried tying it in
Hopefully will make for a few good cuttings.
Can't believe spring bulbs are still opening for the first time on a daily basis! These opened today:
But the highlight of the weekend were the stunning views through the woods on our walk this afternoon:

Once a week should be enough although I do a little and often..
@peteS
I didn't see it but I expect they were those Tulips.. it's deservedly popular..
Thank you @Lizzie27 that’s good to know, something to consider.
So happy to spot a ladybird today, there are plenty of aphids for it to munch on!
Many thanks for any advice.

@daisym
If you want my honest opinion, that rose isn't worth persevering with - sorry..
Those woods are gorgeous @Alfie_
