Gosh what a difference. These photos came up on my Facebook memories in amongst a set of Spring photos. My first roses starting to grow, 4 years ago.
Same roses - although Kew Gardens was moved twice
Royal Jubilee is definitely the least impressive of those 5 at least in that photo, but that’s just because I didn’t get a very good photo of it in full flush last year! Think we missed it on holiday.
Just been browsing online and probably shouldn't mention this but a well known online supplier with the same name as a small spring bulb has 25% off potted roses. No DA's Haven't checked out their postage costs though.
Welcome to April !... don't be fooled, our roses won't be out yet..
With all the rain around, and we've had quite a bit here too, it'll make our roses especially sumptuous this Spring.. large, full blooms and fragrant.. won't it?.. I tell myself..
Actually, I've beaten you all, mine are in full bloom already..
My sole bud showing colour is peeking out a bit more. Usually when I’m obsessively watching the first to do so, another makes a surprise break for it and blooms first..
I’d been waiting for ages for posts and panels to be delivered, but finally my double-sided climbing rose ‘boat’ is taking shape. Still some finishing off and ground levelling to do and yet more compost to buy to top it up. Plus the structure needs some cross bracing pronto, to stop it all keeling over in rough seas!
Do you think I need a flag for it? 🏴☠️
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I don't suppose you'll be putting The Jolly Roger on top of that Nollie, although it would match your imposing street lamp.. first time I've noticed that actually.. does it light up?

I love your boat, Nollie. Are you going to name it? Choose wisely, because it's bad luck to rechristen it later.
Thank you for the interesting pond info, Mr VE
The discontinued DA "Teasing Georgia" has popped up in my Amazon recommendations of all places if anyone is after it.

Good to know that's still available, I used to have it here years ago..

No idea who bred these at this point.. I've not gone that far.
David Austin will be left behind in the rush..
