@Busy-Lizzie, I hadn't realized you had also got Ghislaine de Feligonde, we could compare notes. I'm very pleased with mine so far in it's first year, masses of blooms and more buds to come. A bit floppy which is to be expected.
I wish I'd bought a climbing Iceberg like yours instead of Claire Austin. Iceberg looks easier to train and not so large? How tall is yours? I love the shape of the flowers as well.
I'm not so wowed with Elizabeth this second year, not much perfume to my nose and a rather sprawly habit in its pot.
@Alfie, I bought rusty iron rose baskets for mine which worked well for a number of years but eventually they outgrew them and it was a nuisance trying to prune old stems off at ground level. They were rather expensive as well.
We had heavy rain early this morning which is a blessing so I haven't had to water all the roses this evening. Unfortunately I hadn't got around to giving them a feed which is annoying. Still, it might rain again! - Just looked up and out the window and it is indeed raining again!
I bought Lichfield Angel bare root from DA and it’s just started flowering. I thought it was a creamy colour so I have a feeling they have sent me the wrong rose. @Marlorena could you tell me if this is or isn’t Lichfield Angel before I contact DA. I don’t want to look like an idiot if it is.
I am angry, frustrated and rather helpless: just discovered about 30 holes from voles in a rather small patch of my garden. The area looks like Swiss chease. Very afraid to have to dig out everything and pot it to save it.
The day started really good, discovered first ever bloom on Desdemona and snipped it right off for a vase. The rose is burried somewhere in my poppy field. But then, voles
Managed to take a picture with the different hues of Draga Frayla. Still hot and dry here. Dry is not the problem for potted Draga though.
Imogen has a very lovely light yellow. Obviously it tastes good. Cannot detect much scent though.
Striped Magda from breeder Agel. Threw out nice new basals in spring only to have all old stems wither.
Squirrels unwrapped all my carefully protected standards last winter. Ascot suffered a lot from frost and died back to almost nothing. Very pleased it produced at least one bloom.
@rossdriscoll13 I would guess not... whilst early blooms on roses are not always typical, so cannot judge by the bloom alone, the pink buds and the shape of them do not look right to me for Lichfield Angel.. ...as you can see, they are rounded and quite fat and not elongated and pink as in your photo..
@Lizzie27 - thanks, I will have a look into those.
@CatDouch that certainly looks like ‘You’re Beautiful’ which I have. Here is mine as of today:
Wollerton OH finally emerging. Thought it would look good on this Georgian wall since the lime mortar is similar colour.
Also giant hollyhock (12ft when full height), blue delphinium, clematis Niobe, dahlia Franz Kafka and (just about in shot) Charles de Mills.
Four (and sometimes five) beautiful Eustacia Vye blooms per stem - love this rose.
Thank you @Nollie for the Julia C recommendation - lovely rose.
First Susie bloom going up a 2m obelisk
Winchester C with purple (unknown) clematis behind and beech above. Concha and oak leaf hydrangea right. Pearl bush left (the most amazing spring blooming shrub) and tree hydrangea front.
Winchester C is just such a stunning white rose. The pink streaks are so unique. Healthy shrub here with medium scent - fairly pleasant but nothing to sing about.
Lovely photos @Alfie_ yes my rose looks exactly like your rose You’re Beautiful, I’m so glad I finally know the name of it, do your blooms seem to last for ever? Mine last so much longer than the ones on my Eustacia Vye for example.
@CatDouch yes they are lasting a long time. Mine is new this year and I’m pleased with it for sure.
@Marlorena - so went to buy Scarborough F today and they are completely sold out online! I was thinking your top 10 roses that @WAMS asked for might be the reason 🤔 However, I phoned them up and the lady had some in their ‘special reserves’ whatever that means??!! So I have two on the way! Glad I did as whilst I was in the queue the automated message kept saying ‘If you are enquiring about a rose not in stock then go on our website and enter your email to be notified when it’s back in stock.”
@PeterAberdeen I don't have a book on roses. Just look everything up on www. And here of course.
@Marlorena how do you keep weed off your pebble path? It looks really good which I cannot say about my lawn. Therefore looking for alternatives.
@Tack I am with you in the dry spot. Even future thunder with potential rain has disappeared from the forecast.
Well, thank you @WAMS for adding Fragrant Plum to my must have list. I will have to rethink my no culling policy. In addition to the rare but balling Mikolas I am looking closely at a huge but only once flowering specimen. Can't decide to get rid of all the one leg wonders yet. I certainly want those lush, floriferous bushes you all show.
@Imprevu I am jealous of your Baron Girod de l'Ain. Tried that rose 3 times to no avail. It just doesn't like me back. Please post pictures so I can vicariously enjoy it.

Update - torrential rain!
