    @clematisdorset no it’s being grown as a shrub, doesn’t get much care so don’t think it’s pruned regularly, and it’s not tall/gangly

    @Marlorena that’s very close, but this didn’t have the yellow centre on any of the blooms, it was white instead

    I actually wondered if this could be BenjB. It was in the bed with another two Austins - Lichfield Angels. But those had their tags attached and this one didn’t have a tag. Also it seemed too upright to be an Austin. But it looks so much like yours!
    I actually have BenjB potted in the back garden but it’s in a quite shaded location so it’s not blooming yet and the leaves don’t have red tint to them but the shape looks very similar. I got it bare root in previous season and planted in the ground where it’s really struggled (I think it’s suffered out a single flower for me and that was at the ground level…). I moved it to the pot this winter and it looks much happier now (probably because it actually gets watered!).
    I guess I just have to wait for the first flower on my BenjB to do a proper comparison. Off I go to twiddle my thumbs!
