@WAMS congratulations on coming to the premier league!! I was rooting for you guys, will look forward to seeing you beat spurs at some point next season 😆
I liked so many of them . Here it is still slow since the weather is only to start to warm up the last days. first ‘mini’ bloom on Scentimental Framboise Folle -
Poets wife and Gabriel Oak also did the same for me @Mr. Vine Eye annoying when you loose most blooms like that..
A scent rating would be really difficult @Nollie unless all are in bloom at the same time..
interesting find on the new breeders code Marlorena.. as I mentioned earlier there was no breeders code for Harkness rose from last year.. 'Firth of Fourth' from Trevor white has been discovered by them?
40 show gardens!!! good luck @ElbFee hold on tight to your Credit/ Debit card
Mr Vine.. annoying isn't it... cold springs and Austins do not go together.. I was going to comment about Imprevu's perfectly edged lawn when I read your post.. it seems to work a treat..
@cooldoc It's my suspicious mind again.. roses are being renamed at will these days it seems.. I've noticed 'Firth of Forth'.. interesting but not for me now..
Why I love 'Scarborough Fair'.. it's everything I like in a rose bloom and suits a mixed garden border better than most I think.. Enjoys heat and tolerates drought when established.. my plant is own root and growing well after a slow start..
'Tottering by Gently's' bright yellow flowers are quite large, bigger than they look here, and really stand out from a distance.. 'Wild Rover' on a small arch..
''Sophie's Perpetual''.. a rose that exudes a real perfume, not just a fragrance.. ..who needs 'Bolero' or 'Earth Angel'.. when we have 'Desdemona'.. 'Wilhelm'.. a Kordes hybrid musk,.. makes a big splash of dark red in full flush.. 'Marie Pavie'..
@agnasia I like the scent but I find the rose, as a shrub, frustrating... the bloom colour is not always to my liking, or the shape of them, held on short stems atop stiff hybrid tea like canes, they look rather squat and dumpy.. so I find it rather graceless. I loved it when I first had it, but now not so much..
Your roses are looking great..
Oh that’s interesting. I’ve had a slow start with mine, but it seems much happier now I’ve moved it so will see how it does this season. At the moment it has quite a short squat shape which I’m liking, but will see once it’s in bloom, the buds are taking their time to open!
Thank you, that’s a huge compliment. I can only hope my Desdemona becomes half as beautiful as yours.
New openers today.. Lyda.. a rose which has spicy scent when you sniff it.. but in a weeks time it will start wafting a musky scent and overpower the sweet scent from other roses around it...
Eustacia Vye.. with its intense scent.. poor bee couldn't resist the scent I guess.. Huge Gabriel Oak bloom behind which has been staying there for more than a week despite the heat..
Well being... strong Mango scent, I wanted to eat it..
Claire.. a poulsen rose.. love the sea shell pink.. colour a bit darker than usual but a deformed first bloom.. Scent was not strong in the morning under a cloudy sky..
Lots of roses coming out today but no time to garden... just quick snaps of gorgeous Boule de Neige (I smelt it before I saw it!) Darcey Bussell... lovely and upright Albrighton Rambler Tranquillity Deelish
@Mr. Vine Eye interesting to see your Eustacia bud, my first one seems a little squashed, not sure how else to describe it. Loving your bloom @cooldoc, beautiful. Hoping this one one will open soon.
Funny how one day can change things - Roald Dahl has now opened for me!
I just love this fern, it was here when we bought the house and it’s always magnificent. Eustacia Vye is in front.
That Marie Pavie is beautiful Marlorena, still have my eye on that rose, even though I have no space left!

@Marlorena - my first EVs are either bull-nosed or cut in half like this
