The location information was locked with a padlock a week or so ago, for some reason, so it is not visible to others.

The easiest way to insert your location now is by using it as a signature by clicking on the round wheel icon, top right corner at the end of your user name.. 'user account'.
    Then click 'edit profile'
On the right set of options click on 'signature settings'
Type in the box your location
    click 'Save'

Make sure the box 'hide signatures' is unchecked, otherwise you won't see them

No need to sign out and back in again..

None of that should be necessary.  Somebody, somewhere has been making changes to the forum so they should be the ones to address their **** up.

It's a shame that it's been removed. I only added my location comparatively recently and it was only a general one. It's not as if it has to be your personal address or even your town/city.

I've just take a look at my profile, slight changes noted in format and also noted signatures were " hidden" . Unticked the box and all signatures now visible.👍

We could always word our query like this.
I live in a wet windy very high place on Dartmoor,  does anyone think I could successfully grow apple trees.
Newbies wouldn’t think of this but then they wouldn’t think about putting it on by their name or signature.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Not sure if you did @CrankyYankee but your name gives us a bit of a clue 🤔🧐
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Perfect except I think this whole thread is about people using phones won’t be able to see it but they can see what is written next to your name/avatar.

  • Ohhhhh...I still use a flip phone without data.  Trying desperately to remain behind the times!  Hopefully the Yankee part covers me, like B3 mentioned. ;)

Yes - the problem is that many people use a phone and they can't see the signature strip. I can see your location in the sig. strip @CrankyYankee, because I use a laptop, but many of those with phones won't be able to do that.
I don't understand why the powers that be can't address this. It's bonkers.  :|
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
