I think it's mobile device settings rather than specifically Apple i-whatnots that hides the signatures. I can see the signatures on my tablet but not on my phone, both using the Chrome browser on Android operating system. The only difference is that I think I have "desktop site" set as the default on my tablet (can't remember how though 🤦‍♀️) but not on my phone.

That is really helpful @JennyJ - thank you! I wondered if it had something to do with the 'desktopsite' - probably found in the 'settings' . I had assumed tablets automatically defaulted to 'desktopsite' but this is not my 'specialist subject'  :)   Hopefully the admins might be able to try to sort it all out eventually.
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus

If you'd like an alternative option, albeit a bit longer winded..

    click on
Gardener's World Home.. top left corner
this takes you to main Home Page

click on 'My Hub' top right hand corner
from drop down menu click on 'settings'

Here you will see your 'screen name'
In this box you can type, without leaving any spaces, your location added to your name.
I've inserted dashes below as an example, it might work with dots or some other sign..

    e.g.
    Marlorena---MayfairW1

    Save
You must then sign out and sign back in again..
I beg to disagree with this---albeit clever---stratageme. It goes against logic to put 2 distinct pieces of information in the same "field". The location information should really belong to a field of its own ... and should be displayed (unless not wanted by the forum member).

The location field was displayed at the top of posts, near the username, until recently, and there doesn't seem to be an option to people to choose whether to display it or not - that's the problem that we're trying to find a workaround for, but it doesn't work for people viewing the forum on a mobile device, unless they switch to desktop settings in their browser which is fine on a decent-sized tablet but hard to read on a phone.

I had noticed.  Apple iMac.  The information is extremely interesting for any answers one might make.
It's a pity more people don't (didn't) use it.  Especially those in completely different climates/cultures.

I always use a phone and until very recently could see peoples locations.

    It's as @JennyJ describes @Papi Jo.
Many of us had our approx. location beside the username but that's all disappeared, as explained earlier in the thread. I hadn't noticed mine had gone until someone fairly new mentioned it.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I have just added my location to my signature, with no problems. Have to admit,I hadn’t even noticed they had removed them.

I hadn't either @punkdoc, we get used to the familiar.

I agree with others, when someone is asking a question it's useful to know roughly what area they live when answering. Devon is totally different to SW Scotland climate wise and it's handy for me when @Fairygirl has something to say about a weather related problem I think aye, same thing happening to my escallonia, hypericum etc.

Doubtless another 'upgrade' to the underlying software the forum runs on!
