So pleased to hear things are going so well, I have read the updates from the regular emails on go fund me too. But pleased to hear you (mum) are able to get a little respite for a short while with lovely wonky taking care of you. Take care all xxxx

Love hearing your good news! And remember, it won't be long before you're all sitting out in the garden together - although I suspect Rob will be in a nice shady spot for most of it. Regardless, it's always more relaxing outdoors isn't it? 😊 x

Yay!   The Red Cross are taking a suitable wheelchair from Essex to the Norwich depot for me to collect tomorrow. ❤️

Fantastic :) I hope you'll be able to keep the wheelchair until he doesn't need it any more. One fewer thing to worry about is always helpful.

It's beyond ridiculous that people don't return wheelchairs once they are no longer required.  That is assuming that hospitals will actually accept them back.  They wouldn't take back the crutches I had after knee surgery and don't want my sticks back either when I no longer have any use for them.

Hospitals won't take them back but the red cross takes them, cleans and refurbishes, and reissues.

I thought it was the ones that they have at the hospital for people to use while attending appointments that @Dovefromabove said were being stolen/not returned.

Yes @JennyJ … apparently the thoughtless/lazy folk borrow them and take the patient to the car park and then leave the wheelchair in the carpark … that’s bad enough … but the more despicable ones load the wheelchair into their car boot and it’s never seen again 😡 … at least not by the hospital .., and most of the wheelchairs used for visiting patients are provided by charities anyway.

I was going to say unbelievable, but sadly it's all too believable.
