And yet there are still some on this Forum who slag off the NHS.
I'm not aware of anybody on this Forum who slags off the people who work for the NHS or the work that they do. Slagging off the state of the NHS is a different thing.
@Dovefromabove it's wonderful to hear about Rob's progress. It has so many parallels to my brother following a car crash. Progress was slow but every improvement meant so much. Hopefully Rob's first words were a bit more polite than my brother's. One of the nurses used to pinch his ear lobe to try to get a reaction. When it finally came that reaction was two words, the second being 'off'.

"The State" of the NHS lies directly with underfunding from this bunch of tosspot tories in power.
News of the day from nurse Luca is that Rob is doing so well that they’re looking to move him next door into the rehabilitation and therapy ward maybe even as soon as by the end of next week! He said the staff all say they’ve never had any patient work so hard at getting well 😁
Tomorrow morning, if he’s still managing without the ventilator, they’ll remove the tracheostomy 😄. He managed to have his dressings changed today without sedation, just some oral pain relief 😄 and his wounds are healing so well that he just has dressing patches and not bandages 😄 The swallow test didn’t happen today as the person came while he was having his dressings changed, so that’s been rescheduled for tomorrow. If he’s ok he’ll be able to have things like iced yoghurt and other stuff rather than receiving all his nutrition via the naso-gastric tube. He’s also had a physio session and has managed to stand totally weight-bearing twice! Hes also had a session working in his hands with the OT. He’s also less confused than he was yesterday. He’s doing so well.
Luca says he’s really tired now and dozing … but he said he’s really earned a rest … he’s worked so hard and been so determined. So proud of him.
Thank you all for your continued support and kindness.
