Well done @Busy-Lizzie it’s good that people rally around in these situations.Â
I had 3 hours in the garden before it started drizzling but I need thicker gloves I think. Brambles are very persistent and very prickly aren’t they? But at least I have made a start.Â
Off to my sisters for tea in a bit. Be nice to have a proper catch up.Â
Busy, sounds like the church coffee morning was a great success. Don't blame you for nabbing a slice or two😊 Well done on your cake contribution. Debs, well done you too spending all that time in the garden. Enjoy your catch up with sister. How is your fiancee settling into his new job? Everything going well? We ended up going to the well known DIY store and came out with some very cheap small pots of tumbling ted and snow in summer. We've never seen them out this early some grabbed them whilst we could. OH got some new alpine plants as some in the large planters have gone or are looking the worse for wear. That'll be a nice job for tomorrow if we're up to it. We also got another slab to put at the end of our garden path so that our new ceramic pot ( which will be planted up with cosmos) will be a nice focus point at the end of the path. I also spied some more fritillaries coming through so getting quite a nice clump now. Wait for the red lily beetles to arrive😂
Hazel, you have a good vision of how you want your garden to be. I would still be hesitant about planting some things out though. Yes, those lily beetles are a nightmare. When I go round to Bestie's that is one of my 'seek and destroy' jobs.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
LB, I can see OH may plant some of his alpines as the planter is well shielded/protected  with a massive plastic protector cover at this time of the year. If I plant out some of the other plants I'll protect them too. We've read in the paper that it is forecast we may be in for another Beast  from the East period of weather next month😲😱 ( going from the weather patterns ). Eek! Will have to dig out the fleece again.
Good morning Ante. Are you getting anywhere near to the finishing of the jobs? It must be a bit frustrating because you must find it hard not to be distracted from your growing season planning.

LB, all job supposed to be finished till today, but apparently they have next week free, so they decided to work very slowly and new date is next Wednesday. It's such frustrating. They distract me from everything, and as it's an entrance, whole house is dirty and dusty.Â

Grey and foggy morning. Yesterday was awful day, so hope today will be better. At least no workers today.
Wish you all nice and relaxed Sunday.Â
