Good morning all. Fiancé ended up going back into work yesterday to deal with a crisis but he has today off so we are going to GC for lunch and compost. I want proper seed compost this year as I foolishly put my faith in coir last year advertised as perfect for seeds which was useless. They do a nice bacon sandwich so lunch is sorted. I am off tomorrow as working Saturday and as rain is forecast I want to make a start on my seeds.

Hello all. Been zipping around doing bits and pieces of all sorts and have achieved very little! Isn't that always the case? I needed to faff around with my printer as it wasn't behaving itself - so much so I was looking at new printers. Then I decided to take a look at the ink cartridges - which appeared to be OK but on closer inspection it turned out that the black ink cartridge was faulty. Replaced it with a new one and peace reigns once more in the LB house. Here as promised is a picture of my latest flowering cactus:
T'Bird, the tiniest purchase I had to make on a card, as cash wasn't an option, was 0.40p to use the Ladies at Ambleside. It did make me smile. Up to press that has been the smallest!
Debs, I could just go a bacon sandwich right now!

  • That's a pretty cactus LB, beautiful colour.
That was lots of pennies to spend a Penny 😉
Still waiting for the man to service the boiler to turn up 🙄 I've not done anything this morning hanging around for him to arrive. Could have popped to the village post office to drop off a parcel while I've been waiting. Hope he turns up soon.
I'll join you in a bacon sandwich 😋😋

    Afternoon all,

It’s turned into a nice bright day, so I’ve got some clothy things hanging on a string outside to dry.

Planted a few dwarf tulip plants in the garden yesterday and into a pot that looked rather bare (I think the mice got hold of the tulip bulbs I’d planted in there last autumn).

Love the cactus @Ladybird4, it looks very pretty.

    Lunch time beckons now.
  • He's just arrived 😁

Yay SGL. You can plan your afternoon now. Yes, an expensive visit - but worth every penny!
@Red maple I planted 36 Snakeshead fritillaries in big pots so that I could site them in clear spaces once my other bulbs had come through. When I was down the garden the other day there was no sign of any growth and my prime suspect is the resident squirrel!

It is always nice when you get little jobs like that done and you can breathe a sigh of relief for another year. I'm having a cuppa too.

  • Ooh you weren't there earlier @Ladybird4 yes, ecan now get on with a couple of jobs.
He was very nice and didn't leave any mess. Just a shame I didn't have a allocated time slot. But at least still have the rest of the afternoon free.

Hello all, very nice bacon sandwich eaten and seed compost bought also a big tub of chicken manure pellets. I treated myself to some more sweet pea seeds I liked the look of and some cucumber seeds to try in the greenhouse as in the past I found home grown so much juicier and tastier than shop bought but was otherwise very restrained.
