Afternoon folks,  Nothing planned for today, have just finished an on-line shop for delivery tomorrow.  Popped out to fat club this morning and lost another 3lb, just .5 more and I will have lost the Christmas weight I put on
Might do a bit of drawing later this afternoon.  Since hubby stopped guitar lessons we don't have to submit a tax form, so glad, it was pain in the bum.
Your coffee shop sounds lovely LB.  Adore horses, both the girls rode when younger and I used to love dropping them off at the stables and petting the horses.
Look like a great haul of seeds Ante.  I've got loads but no inclination to get started yet.  Might have a look through my seeds to see if it inspires me to get in the garden.
    Have a good trip Topbird.
    See you all later.

The tree feller fellas have finished and, as they considered the branches strewn around my drive, car, front lawn and blocking drains as acceptable collateral damage, I've been out to start filling the garden waste bin ready for the first collection next month.

When I overhear some of the comments made by one particular neighbour about other people's waste arriving in his garden (it's his tree that has deposited what seems like thousands of seeds all over our garden this winter!), I wish I'd saved up all the garden waste that I've collected and disposed of over the last few years and could now tip it back on the properties of the original owners. It's a lot and it would kick off!!!

Anyway, it got me ought of the house for a while - in the words of the great BC, I'm "windswept and interesting" now :D Also, there was this morning's pint on the doorstep, which I'd forgotten about.

Spot of luncheon and then how to waste the afternoon....

Afternoon all. Van is almost ready for off - just need to turn the gas off (required for ferry) and put the bikes on the back. They'll be useful for short journeys in and around towns. Suspect we won't be doing much in the way of lengthy cycle trips in February (I won't anyway!). Setting off at about 8pm.

Well done on getting the tax return done Biglad. What a pain about all the debris from the tree felling. I get really irritated by 3 huge silver birches immediately on the boundary. In the spring and summer everything is covered in seeds (including in the house and gutters), in the autumn we get all the leaves and in the winter our lawns are covered with small branches. I was slightly concerned by what OH pulled out of the gutters and downpipes when we had the cherry picker last year. But the neighbours won't cut the trees own so there's not much we can do.

LB - hope your eyes calm down soon and the problem hasn't been caused by anything more than dust or dryness.

Debs - not been to Blenheim but I've stayed at the campsite next door! Nice part of the world.

Hazel - it took several months for our FENSA certificates to come through. At the time everyone blamed it on Covid because people were working from home. Not sure that's a valid excuse anymore.

Afternoon all. Biglad, I am on the verge of apoplexy! I have just done my meter readings - electricity and gas. I have two readings for electricity as I have economy 7 so I duly entered them - under last months readings on the BG website - and my gas reading. I press enter and flashing up on the screen comes this message:
    Can you check that?
Those numbers aren't what we expected.
Like I would really give them wrong readings! I clicked the 'Yes its right' button and the end page comes up and I see sraight away the problem - they have got the day and night readings the wrong way around. This is a problem I had way back and despite my having written, phoned etc. it was only put right when I joined the energy company the went bust and for the first several readings I have sent to BG which all went correctly we are back to this shambles again. Could I get anyone on their 'help line' to talk to? Don't be ridiculous! I am now going to lie down in a dark room with a wey cloth on my head!
I do have a little positive news though - appointment at the eye clinic on Wednesday 8th February at 09:15. Naturally my eyes will have recovered by then but I will jump through all their hoops. I reckon I get this year's first scream!

You definitely get the first screeeeeaaaaammmmmm LB.

I commented to OH about British Gas the other day. He replied do you mean British Gas? I thought they were called British F**k*ng Gas.

That's what I usually call them!

I hope your journey goes smoothly and you have a lovely time in Germany @Topbird.

Is your eye redness because a little blood vessel has burst, a subconjunctival haemorrhage, LB? Shouldn't hurt and should clear up on its own in a week or two. No need to see a doctor or optician. I've had it before. Looks worse than it is.

We had a call from the hospital, OH has a date for his hip op, 23rd Feb. Pre-op assessment the week before.

I did 2 hours gardening, tidying up and mulching. Run out of compost and leaf mould, means a trip to a GC D

    It's been a good day.

Busy what excellent news. I am so pleased for your OH and you. No haemorrhaging in my eyes Busy and I've already seen my optician who referred me to the eye clinic - hence the phone call today so I'm just going with the flow.
Biglad, I dipped my typing fingers in vitriol and hurled off an email to FBG. Will it do any good or get a response? I very much doubt it but it made me feel better.

BG, Topbird's OH has it right. Their new and improved site is a load of rubbish. All I get when is submit a reading is.....we haven't asked you for one, we will contact you nearer the time.....and within days, I get a text asking for a reading 😡
LB, that's quick for your eye appointment, but good. At least they are treating it right as you can't be too careful with eyes. I have booked myself in for a three monthly blood test on the same day as your eye appointment but an hour later. ( dentist due the day before ☹️).
Busy, hurray!!👏 Fingers well crossed for your OH's  operation. I really hope it all goes through this time.
Topbird, all the best for take -off tonight🤞🤭
Hope Rosie is okay, haven't seen her for a few days. @wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1.
