Noticed quite a few have Calagromtis karl foerster I liked and I've tried it in the past, but by time winter comes around its already on the deck
It’s fine in my dry, sandy soil @Perki. I used BF&B one year which was a mistake. Added nitrogen makes the flowers/seedheads lax and prone to battering by wind and rain. Even in the most exposed area in my garden they remain upright and tidy.
Thank you @pitter-patter. I have not grown cosmos yet, but tried zinnias last year, which got a bit too tall. I think cosmos would be a better height.😊
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus
@Plantminded I had that feeling the soil may be a bit to rich for it . I do try and leave a few other faded perennials over the winter but they soon get battered as well.
Thank you @Loxley, the bees certainly like it! Your garden is looking fantastic. I planted some of those Seselera after seeing them in your garden and they make a great feature, thank you!

Alpine trough with a splash of colour:
My general view photo from this morning. Euonymus oxyphyllus (recently liberated from a container) with characteristic late season colour.
