There is still some colour in my garden in SW France but it's beginning to look autumnal. The very hot weather hasn't helped to keep things going. 36° yesterday.
The Jewel Bed is now like this:
This was June. It's a fairly new bed, I dug it 2 years ago.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Actaea pachypoda 'Misty Blue', a really good value plant with white bottlebrush flowers in spring, handsome bluish leaves, and then these colourful yet somehow grisly looking berries in later summer.
"What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbour".
Some last photos of summer colour in the lower part of my garden. The bank slopes down from a height of about 10 feet, enjoying sun throughout most of the day.
I like the very dramatic picture of the Echinacea / pervoskia / sedum @Latimer .
@Plantminded forgive me for being nosey but what's on the top layer ? looks like a seating area ?
Jungle area looks good @punkdoc do you leave the canna's in the ground with a mulch or lift them , Same with the colocasia ? I've never had much luck with colocasia never get them through the winter even when lifting them.
Are you not worried the Rhus is going to sucker @Loxley ? Great pictures as usual
