My front garden has done well this summer. It has been in full sun as the street trees were pollarded this year. There is also now an irrigation system in (designed for pots, but it's been fine). The space is only about 2mx2m but has been productive - dahlias, cannas, poppies, snap dragons and an array of wild flowers. There is a large white cobea flowering since about July (bought as a litre pot in May. My first successful attempt).
The space has never had so much bio-mass in it, esp over summer. Yes, I should have put it in five years ago. I probably wouldn't have attempted any of it, with my health limitations without irrigation.
It has been interesting to see how much I can squeeze into a small space and have the plants thrive: a test this year (I like tests). The answer is: quite a lot. And yes, you can grow 25 ft of cobea in about four months in a small pot if you have enough sun. I had to clip mine to fit in a small space, but it would have happily trailled from three floors up and covered the front of the house (if had three floors).
