Cafe Au Lait twist new to me this year looks really nice Canna are starting to flower , they've done ok from small plants in spring Mahonia starting , Hydrangea decided to grow 7-8ft tall . Good year for apples Helianthus Lemon queen covers the compost bins nicely Bog area I've been messing with other the last two seasons . Put some primula Candelabra in earlier this year ones decided now is its time . Going to dig quite a lot of them Iris pseudacorus out I've got a Gunnera to fit in there and to add more Eupatorium and primulas. Salvia Leucantha Purple velvet Salvia Confertiflora Front garden Looking rather wind swept. Miscanthus Memory is starting to flower ( Can't see out of pic ) its has marvellous white flowers. I do have a few clumps of Pennisetum Fairy tails in here but they flower so late ( looking like not at all this year ) I think I'll replace them with something else maybe deschampsia goldtau
Another Mexican shot 🍹 - cannas, salvias, cobea and dahlias. Dahlias show no sign of slowing down yet - given liquid feed all season (for the first time) and they are doing well on it. I will def'ly be adding homemade compost to future potting mixes to add richness.
---
Growing violas for the first time - impossibly dainty
---
Growing regular cannas in a window box pond. They seem to be loving it and putting on lots of new leaf. I will take them out as frost approaches and pot them up. The should be fine here outside in regular pots of earth. I have enjoyed this experiment this year very much.
---
The front beds have certainly had the most successful summer since I have been in the house (over ten years ago). The mini irrigation system is a game changer - and the mini pond - with mini-fountain
