Just noticed that there is a colony of bees using a bird box which the birds have totally ignored this year. Hurrah! Cheered me up no end.
This reminds me of something I saw a few years ago.  A branch of Little Chef (remember them !) had a small metal ashtray with a lid that wouldn’t close properly, fixed to the wall at shoulder level near the main entrance.  One spring a pair of blue tits used it for their nest and the staff put a “Do Not Disturb” sign by it.  Sometimes you could hear the babies tweeting and squawking.  They didn’t seem afraid of customers.

My RTBC is that the day before yesterday our PV panels supplied 100% of the energy we used.   :)

@Liriodendron that's good news, but have you any indication from the installing company what the average % is likely to be over a 12 month period?

We have our first baby robin in the garden! 😃
We've got lots of different babies now, I love it!
Oh, and after a few months, dad robin has just managed to perch on the hanging feeder instead of grabbing a seed before he falls off. ❤

The blurb reckons 75% annual average when it's newly installed, @KT53 .

Cynic that I am, I'll assume that figure is about as accurate as fuel consumption figures for cars, and range for electric cars.  Even so, 50% would be worth having.

It'll be interesting to work out at the end of the year (ie next March), @KT53 , how accurate the estimate is - and yes, the cynic in me asks where in the world the panels were installed, to produce that figure.  Sahara?  Maybe not in the west of Ireland... though I hope I'm wrong.  And yes, even 50% would be worth having.  So far we have ranged from 2% (foggy day, panels covered in snow) to 100%.

My current RTBC is that the presence of an aggressive family of magpies - though otherwise definitely a candidate for Curmudgeons' Corner - seems to have scared the neighbourhood cats out of the garden for the time being.

First warm sunny day for ages. I can almost see my seedlings growing! Everything is bigger than it was yesterday. They are obviously much more patient than me.

We went to Hampton Court Castle near Leominster today.  Wonderful weather and absolutely fabulous gardens.  Well worth a visit if in the area.
