@Obelixx I have seen Heinz beans and golden syrup in E. Leclerc.
  • There's going to be a new way to watch Freeview TV, called Freely, due for launch next yr.  it means you can view over your broadband connection, without an aerial.  I am really pleased to hear this as since the digital switchover in 2012, I have only had access to 4 channels - BBC1, 2, 4, and News24.  Am located in a sort of transmission cold spot and would need cable or a satellite dish to get other channels reliably.  I haven't bothered as I don't watch much, but a little variety would be nice.  Will feel like I am getting more for my licence fee.  😁

The current generation of smart TVs won't be able to use Freely, but that's OK for me cos my non-smart one is over 12 yrs old, so time for an upgrade anyway.

Freeview TV is like a cheap tin of mixed biscuits. Some of them are a bit stale and there's nothing you really fancy.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • You're probably right. 😉  The novelty may wear off quickly.

Most of what I watch is on freeview - BBC4, BBC2, Sky Arts and a few others. Maybe that makes me a bit stale?
OH has paid-for Sky, Netflix and Amazon Prime TV so when we're watching together he generally picks something from one of those, but I just can't be bothered wading through it all to find something that I might want to watch. By the time I've done that my half an hour or whatever when I wanted to watch some TV has all but gone.

Sky arts is good. I agree. Are you sure the others you mention are free view. They can count as the odd chocolate biscuits along with Dave, I suppose.

BBC2 and 4 definitely on freeview.
Not OHs sky, netfilx etc obviously, but I don't watch those unless we're watching together, maybe one evening a week normally, when generally I let him choose something.
