My neighbour just knocked on with a whole bunch of rhubarb! I suppose I should make a apple and rhubarb crumble for after dinner!

Have just offloaded 3 kilos of apricots to a younger neighbour and had a lovely chat.   She's 7 months' pregnant and is enjoying her last summer alone with her little boy.  Interesting times ahead.

Just back in from my wife's first proper walk since coming home after breaking her leg.  The doctor clarified that she really only needs to use the crutches for balance and to take a little of the weight if the leg gets sore, so she is much more confident.  Only did about 250 yards but it did her the world of good.

Mother went to bed early. I am in my sunroom in silence...apart from the odd dog snuffle of course.
    Silence. Oh yes!
  • Had more of our freshly picked blackberries today. With home grown apple, and thick yoghurt.
    Yum!!

I've been making tomato sauce this morning, the smell of the tomatoes from the garden while I was cutting them up was just beautiful compared to shop bought ones!  B)

We have nice steady rain, 4mm and still going :). It's been dry for a week and a half and quite warm for some of it, so rain is very welcome.

you're welcome to some of ours.
I don't think we've had 2 consecutive dry days for about 8 weeks

Pretty much the same here @Hostafan1.  A couple of days without rain and the grass is almost dry enough to cut, then it chucks it down again.  Really frustrating and depressing for this time of year.
