Persuaded my OH to load his old car up with junk from the back of the shed to take to the tip tomorrow - result!

RTBC ...Managed to get a faulty water pump that was given to me working. No more carting buckets of water from water butts to butt near greenhouse as this little pump pumps it all the way . :D
That said is this an advantage or disadvantage! All that exercise kept me fit. :'(

  • I'd say it's an advantage. If you want to keep fit, then don't turn the pump on. If you're feeling low, then activate it. You are in control. :)

Some excellent customer service! We have two handbasins in our en-suite, fitted about 9 years ago. They still look like new, apart from the covers for the overflow, which were silver coloured plastic, and over the years, I’d obviously ‘cleaned’ some of the coating off. I finally got round to emailing Roper Rhodes to see if they sold replacement covers. They asked for my name and address, and within two days, two new, updated style, metal covers arrived in the post, no charge. Very chuffed, and impressed. Makes a change from what passes as customer service from many companies these days.

They've always had a good reputation, a local Bath company I believe.

Yes, @Lizzie27. They are based at the Brassmills Trading Estate. Visited their showroom a few years ago when visiting son.
  • My RTBC today? When I went for the newspaper this morning, I passed only one person. I don't know them, but they said hello anyway.
The lady at the shop was cheerful and friendly.

When we are out walking, the people who nearly always speak are those out walking their dog.  We don't have a dog but they still speak to us.

Same down here on the Downs - the people who walk , talk - dogged or dogless - invariably people will at least acknowledge you and most often offer a greeting of some sort.
