@plant pauper the berries on our rowan/mountain ash are bright red too.

@KT53 the berries were my reason for having them but the starlings had other ideas; they stripped them in an hour. This year blackbirds and thrush have been making merry but that's fair enough.

Best hips ever on my "daughter of Kiftsgate" rose that I brought here as a baby form my Belgian garden.    It's cool andcloudy today so good wetaher for sending OH out to lift the garlic.   Knee physio is going well but lots to do before I can get back to dance class.

The berries on our Rowan tree have been red for weeks. Not a bird in sight.

My new cleaner arrived yesterday and has done a smashing job, the house has never been so clean and shiny! I've never been very keen on housework, gardening comes first by a long way.

Positive news about the experience at our local hospital.  My wife had her first follow up appointment after breaking her leg.  Appointment was for 11:30 but there was a notice up warning that because of an earlier IT failure there would be a delay.  My wife was actually seen at midday, which I wouldn't really class as a delay even without the IT issues.  It turns out that the problem affected the ability to pull up x-ray images, which obviously creates difficulties!  The system was down for over an hour so I think they did extremely well to limit the delays.  The doctor also clarified that my wife can fully load bear on the broken leg when she has the boot on.  She wasn't sure prior to that and had been taking a lot of the weight on her arms in the crutches, which greatly limited how far she could go.
Once again, all the staff were brilliant.  Gotta love our NHS despite all the problems.  Interestingly, the picket such as it was consisted only of about a dozen people.  Far smaller than on previous occasions.

It's good that your wife had a positive experience in that hospital - makes a welcome change.

My SIL has had an ultrascan, an MRI today and an endoscopy booked for tomorrow, all at short notice within a week so they are pulling out all the stops for her. Fingers crossed the results are not bad news.
