Lovely blanket @Songbird-2, just the job for putting on knees when watching TV.
It's sunny but the wind is blowing quite noisily, rather chilly outside. I really should go out and cut down my several Group 3 clematis as they are growing new shoots.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good afternoon, It’s a lovely bright day today, though a bit breezy and chilly. Been out to my coffee morning group and put the world to rights 😁. Now I really must get that hot metal thing out to clear a backlog.
Lovely blanket @Songbird-2. It looks nice and cosy. Hope you all have a good day.
Thanks Rubee, Busy and Red Maple, very simple pattern that can be done whilst watching TV, keeping the legs warm and without much thought😉
Couldnt get a mug like the one I broke but OH picked another one for himself so we'll see how long that one lasts!
Had a bit of scare this morning. After shopping, OH took the car through the car wash. My worst nightmare happened.........it stopped, half way through it😱😱😱 . I really didn't like it at all, imaging all sorts of things, whilst OH remained very calm saying" this has happened to me before, it'll be OK". Meanwhile, I am nearly in a panic. When it started again, we got to the dryer which decided, today of all days, to only start moving up and along the bonnet window with a millimetre to spare. I was holding myself back on the seat😬 cursing.....Next time, OH is on his own.
Afternoon folks, Your daffs are doing well Songbird. Mine are only about 4" tall at the moment. Haven't got snowdrops out yet. Busy couple of days. Had to empty out the conservatory ready for the men to fit the new roof today. It's all finished now and looks really good. I've put the heaters on just to see how much heat is retained. I'm in the process of putting things back but had to clean the windows etc before I could start so it's going to take a bit of time. All the throws and cushion covers have been washed. Went with Secondborn and the boys to an amateur panto last night. It was very good but a bit long. Lots of the usual shouting, corny jokes and joining in, the boys really enjoyed it as Jonah's teacher was part of the cast. Hope Topbird's course is going well. Its lovely and sunny here, don't fancy your minus 10 Ante. Lovely blanket Songbird. Stay cosy everyone.
Home safely after a lovely weekend away with a room full of other geeky, really nice people all scratching heads over dusty old charters and court rolls. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to be able to talk about what you're doing without seeing people's eyes glaze over. One lady had come from Washington just for this course - arrived Wednesday - going back today. That's keen!
Debs & Biglad and their tax returns. Deadline is midnight tomorrow - some people like to live on the edge😉🤣
Nice blanket Hazel. It might be a simple pattern but it still works really well because of the different texture in both the knitting and the wool. Sorry to hear about the car wash experience. I'm sure you wouldn't have been the first to have to be rescued.
Starting to sort stuff out now for Germany - we leave Wed night.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Red maple, hope you managed to deplete you pile of items that needed the hot metal thing. My Bestie and I - as Hazel knows - do our fair share of putting the world to rights so now, with reinforcements, we should do better.
Hazel, I meant to say before that your throw looks beautiful. It looks like a berber wool mix. I bet its snuggly. How about this as an idea? Let your OH wash his own mug and you needn't feel any more guilt. Simples! Sorry to hear about your car wash experience. There is one on my 'sco car park but its not an automated one - just fit young men who do a great job for not too much money.
T'Bird - good to read that you had such an enlightening time with like minded people. I'll bet that you are looking forward to Wednesday and will be happy once all the packing is done. How long are you away for this time? You've probably told us but I cannot remember!
Yvie, my daffs sound like yours - good leaves but not too much bud development as yet. My snowdrops are beginning to look very Spring like and I have got more primroses out too.
Busy, did you get you clemmies cut back? I have still got mine to do. Weather turned out nice so I've been in the garden GH and garage pottering about.

I hope we don't get a sudden heavy frost, these look ready to burst open.....

Lovely to see the daffs showing buds @Songbird-2. Something to look forward to.
