Good morning all busy day yesterday but lots of boxes ticked and I have a new unit for the dining room with lots of drawers and cupboards so hoping to be more organised this year. I say this every year but remain optimistic! Also got a new 12 tog quilt which is lovely and fluffy. Visited fiancés mom and daughter too and van had its service though it needs new pads and discs which will be pricey!
    Work today.
Hope you all have a good day planned

A very good morning Debs and all arriving later. Ouch, that will be an expensive sort out for the van but has to be done.
Hazel, going back to the energy question. If you keep a written record every month of your meter readings you can work out your usage.
I just tried to access my account and got the standard message:
'Sorry something went wrong. We can't access your information at the moment.'
    What a surprise!
As soon as I have found out all of my information I will be switching suppliers.

Ante, they were talking about the meteor showers on TV this morning and Carol, the weather reporter, said it had been a bit too cloudy in many places to see them. I might try again tonight.

Good morning LB, debs and all to follow.

LB, hope you will see meteor shower tonight. I also might, because this morning is clear with sunshine.

Debs, enjoy new quilt, sounds very warm and comfy. I changed discs and pads om my car last year, and it was quite expensive.

Sunny and clear morning. I already done SM shopping, and now have my first cup of tea. If delivery arrives early, I'll go to the cottage.

Wish you all nice and warm day.

Good morning Ante - the day of the desk! Hope it arrives early so that you have a good stretch of the day to do more things rather than waiting around for the delivery.

Morning all - what a dark & windy day it is. Not sure that OH will be able to do much flying today.

Hope the desk turns up soon Ante. I hate waiting in for deliveries, workmen etc etc. What will you do at the cottage if you go there?

@Songbird-2 I've just had a look at my BG account. I see what you mean about getting an up to date estimate of whether your account is likely to be in credit or debit.
I can see a record of the payments I've made since swapping to their 'new' accounting system at the beginning of Nov.
I can also see the records of my meter readings and work out my usage.
However I cannot see whether my account is in credit or debit.
I could sit down with a calculator and work it out but we shouldn't need to do that in this day and age should we?

Just did an online chat (got through straight away) and asked when my next bill was due. (25th Jan) so I'll ensure I send a meter reading a few days before then to find out exactly where I am

I see they still want me to use the App. Well I would - but it doesn't work with the 'new' system....

All a bit rubbish isn't it?

    Good morning all.

We had quite a rough ride on the ferry. There was a big swell in the sea, made it hard to walk on the ferry. I was a bit worried about OH when we went to have our meal but he managed, there were rails to hold. People were being sick. It was a bit late when the steward went round with sick bags!🤮 We were OK.

The short drive to Eastbourne last night was horrid, howling gale, rain, fog and it was dark. DIL has taken the children to school.

Good morning everyone . The weather here is dreadful . The wind is quite alarming .
We are with Jellyfish and so far we haven’t had any problems with them .
OH has ordered a lovely chest of drawers from one of the oak companies. We have a very tired music cabinet that has seen better days . The new chest of drawers will fit in nicely where the old cabinet is . Have a good day everyone. Golly Busy your ferry trip sounds horrible. I hope that you are both ok and resting now .That journey was a nightmare .

    Morning T'bird, Bussy and Rubee.

Sorry to hear that you all have rough weather.

T'bird, I'll go first with Max to the woods, then have some more black radish to dig out, and also must start to build three more raised beds. Hope that weather stays sunny and dry as it 's now. But all depends on delivery guy.

@Topbird, I sussed that out yesterday when I was fiddling about on my account. If you tap on " Make a payment" and scroll down a little, you will see ' balance' and it shows there whether you're in credit or deficit.  BUT that figure doesn't take into account your usage since your last bill.
That information as used to get, via e mail, after I'd submitted a monthly metre reading before this new ( stupid) system.
This feel to me like they are deliberately keeping the customer in the dark until a new bill is received.
