Because the case was closed, due to our inability to prove exactly how much gas he used, he is taking us to court, basically saying our claim was spurious , and claiming £250 an hour for 20 hours work he needed to defend himself, plus other expenses. It is staggering, I am just so furious, and Moira who did all the work is really upset.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I can’t see that he has a leg to stand on @punkdoc … he’s just a malevolent troublemaker and will be seen as such. Even if you couldn’t prove how much gas he’d stolen you proved that he’d tapped into your pipe illegally and stolen some … incredibly dangerous.
What has your judgely neighbour got to say about it? Have you told him?

Surely ‘case closed’ should mean exactly that? Will the courts even entertain this?? He chose to pay for legal representation after all?? Mind blowing.
I reckon he's just trying to wind you up @Punkdoc and destroy your peace of mind. He's timed it very well just before Xmas hasn't he? I'm sure the courts will throw it out of the window. If the court didn't award him costs against you at the time, I'm not sure he can go back again and get them. He is a very, very nasty piece of work by all accounts.
We enjoyed our Christmas lunch although my turkey was only lukewarm, I should really have sent it back but nobody else complained and I didn't want to spoil the atmosphere. Xmas puds were lovely and the custard really hot so that made up for the disappointing mains. The canal outside the pub was frozen over, first time for years apparently. Looked very pretty but I don't fancy living in a narrowboat in the kind of temps we've been having, although some of them do have woodburners.
At least it's warmer today, forecast is for rain later tonight.
Enjoy your Quiz and supper tonight @Busy-Lizzie. Hope your water main has been repaired Dove.
3am this morning daughter's phone rang, it was her ex over at the farm. Pipe burst in the loft, water flooding everywhere. Off she went to help. Found a local plumber who came and fixed the pipe so now they just have to dry everything out! Still freezing here although temperature has crept up a degree or two, icy rain just seems to be making everything more slippery and dangerous, but we did manage to get down to the village shop at lunch time to a chorus of "hello, didn't expect to see you down here today". Cant believe your news @punkdoc, that man is unbelievable! Take it easy @Pat E, it can take some time to get over covid properly. Stay warm and safe everyone.

On a lighter note, I forgot to say earlier that we are going out to a Christmas Quiz and supper run by OH's old choir. Only a few minutes drive away.
