It was rather primitive @Busy-Lizzie, a kind of log cabin. Very draughty! The 2nd bedroom only had bunk beds so good job we hadn't taken mum and MIL. It was so chilly that the owners hadn't opened up the outside pool - which was one of the reasons we'd chosen it. Near the town famous for it's milk and cheese, whose name escapes me. Think it was in Normandy.
I think I could write a book on holiday lets and B & B. When I was a teenager, Mum and I often said we could write a book about loos, especially on camp sites, we had visited. One or two really stood out, the first, right next door to the pigsty and the second, a tiny wooden hut in the middle of a wood, with a piece of string tied to a rock to keep the door shut. Those were the good old days!
good morning all. The Kleeschen (St Nicholas) has been! Left a bottle of Bayley's for yours truly. It is still dark outside, it will be cold and grey. It is a full moon tonight but who knows if we can see it. Yesterday I covered the laurel and the salvias, hope they survive. Today physio then some house cleaning is needed, but we'll see. Well done all who volunteer for the community.
Good morning all ☕ We had an early start this morning ... OH is already at work, the kitchen is sorted and I have a load in the washing machine ... now for a sit down and noodle on here to find out what's been going on ...Â
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Went down to kitchen this morning, scene of minor devastation, plants knocked over, bird food all over the place and some rather large crap, it appears we have a rat.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Morning everyone, rather poor night's sleep which is unusual for me. We went to another plumbing shop yesterday and I'm more unsure about what to do than ever. This chap seemed to think I should just buy more spares for the existing one even though he admitted ours is now obsolete so we can only get "pattern" parts, recons 2 years for a thermostat is OK. !! 😖 @punkdoc maybe your rat has a furry tail , more likely disturbed by roofers.

Looks like it will be another sunny bright day, despite a few clouds this morning.  0°C but as there is no wind, it doesn't pinch your cheeks!!
Yes @coccinella  Today is St Nicholas which dicts:
Le jour de St Nicholas, de décembre est le moins froid.  Here's hoping for you - not the case down here!
Have a happy day.
