Evening all, another one with a very sharp frost this morning. Wasn't looking forward to having to walk to the bus stop again but it wasn't too bad underfoot. Bus packed again, both ways. My eye test was satisfactory but my bifocals were over 7 years old so I ordered a new pair and a spare pair of reading glasses. Was really pleased to find a lovely red leather phone bag which fitted my large phone. It has a long strap and is worn cross body so it will reduce the weight of my handbag! My Xmas presie to myself. Hopefully it will be just the job to take with me when out walking.
Our Garden club Xmas do is tomorrow evening and includes wreath making and a supper. Not sure whether we'll go this year though, hate going out when it's dark and freezing.
Long day making Christmas Puddings, Cupcakes and Mince pies, why do people leave it so late to order, cakes and puddings would be so much nicer made a month or so ago.
Treated myself to a (half) home made pizza and a lovely rocket and parmesan salad but hadn't realised my lips had become so chapped and sore, the vinaigrette caused a sharp intake of breath, luckily a gulp of the chianti eased the pain.
Looking forward to seeing Charlie tomorrow, desperate to give him a big hug.
The garden club parties sound very nice, wish I had a bit more time to commit to such things. You should make an effort @Lizzie27, it'll be great when you get there, I felt the same about the clothes swap party last night.
Keep warm everyone, I saw the forecast for the UK, looks like a chilly week-end ahead.

Below freezing this morning, so stayed at home and put up some Christmas decorations. I managed to fill a bin full of leaves raked from the lawn yesterday, but too chilly to do any more of that today. Still, it’s a start.
Well I have had a very indulgent evening. OH is out (taken her girls to see 6 the musical), I dug out an old DVD of Geoff Hamiltons series on cottage gardens. So great to watch a programme that doesn't jump about with bits from here and there, what's coming up next and so on. Seeing dear old George Flat on TV again pure nostalgia.
Finally seen the first rat, Iwas in the kitchen having a drink before bed and one ran out in front of me. They seem to be coming up from the drain, along the pipes and into kitchen. There are now bucket loads of poison down, so wait and hope.

Strange weather here today. Freezing fog this morning couldn't see across the front yard. Then it cleared with the odd glimpse of sun, still very cold. Suddenly around 3pm the fog blanket fell again in a matter of minutes only to lift and be totally gone an hour later. This evening it is still clear but a frost forming. Luckily I didn't need to go out as I cant think it would have been very nice to have that afternoon fog suddenly blocking my driving vision. Very strange. Good luck with the overnight trapping @punkdoc.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ hoping your lodgers enjoyed their supper and ate it all up @punkdoc 🤞
OH is opening up at the shop today, so it’s an early start for us. I’ll go to the farm shop a bit later when the sun has warmed us up a bit. At the moment there’s a brilliant full moon shining in our bedroom window 🌝

Good morning all. Nothing to report other that I am wearing a bobble hat indoors. Cup of the at the ready. We couldn't bother to cook last night so we dined on Panettone, not healthy but boy so satisfyingly decadent. Yum! 😋😋
