Now that I've finally sorted some photos on this new laptop, I thought I'd add a few I took on 4th May, just locally, where I often walk. It's a little bit of woodland beside a church hall, with a set of steps leading up through it. Lovely at that time of year with the celandines in full flow, the daffodils, the bluebells appearing, and the trees starting to get their foliage
The little celandines seed into the risers on the dodgy old steps too. Lovely
Might take my camera tomorrow, as the bluebells are now dominating, and they looked lovely this morning.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I adore that pansyface shot because it conveys a sense of tranquility, and I've just realized why I feel so at ease living where I do. It looks like Derbyshire if I proceed a few yards up the hill from my backyard.
Really lovely @Latimer. I particularly like the 1st one, and it's always nice to get a sunrise. My walk today won't be quite as scenic I've just remembered I said on that other thread I'd do the bluebell pix. It was really sunny yesterday so it was difficult to get them as the site's a bit awkward

I'm back in my house in France but haven't had time to walk recently. The garden needed a lot of work. Was in Norfolk where OH is resident. He had his hip replacement that he'd waited for for over 3 years.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I've been lucky the last couple of morning @Fairygirl the weather has been really perfect. Bluebells are really tough to photograph well, the slightest harsh light washes them out totally but you managed some cracking photos there. We edit and edit our gardens but somehow nature always knows how to just let things work themselves out
@Busy-Lizzie wishing your OH a speedy recovery! My mum is finally on the list to get her knees sorted out.
That's great your OH had got his op @Busy-Lizzie, if somewhat hard to deal with re the length of time. Wishing him a speedy recovery, although I expect it'll be pretty slow. Everything has been delayed so much in the last few years. Yes - blues are always a pain to get right @Latimer , although purple is worse IMO. They always seem to be too blue. Whites are hard too - I can never get decent pix of the white peony I have. I don't know if you need a much better camera than I have too. Mine is more suited for distance than close ups as well, which is more use to me when I'm on a hill. Someone explained it on here a while ago re the colour thing, but I can never remember all the techy stuff! I might try a few more pix today as it's cloudy and damp, which is always a bit easier.

I'm lazy most days and don't bother with the camera, I just use my phone.
There are definitely right tools for the job, especially when it comes to photography, there is no point forcing the camera to do something it doesn't want to. I'm often frustrated with my phone not having a longer lens as I hate digital zooming. Maybe tomorrow I'll take my camera out with me @Fairygirl
I don't have one of those phones, although the camera is starting to get a bit hit and miss, especially the zoom function, which is very slow. Just when you want to get in closer to something like a bird/insect, they've gone! It's been great though, so I can't complain. I've been considering getting a phone instead, but I'll have to think about it.
