Hi everyone.
There are many people who enjoy walking so I thought: why not share your walk with the rest of us by posting a photo. It doesn't have to be a trekking in the Himalayas: your ten minutes walk around the block is more than good if you want to post a photo of it.

I will start with this one taken near a place called Steesel.

The walk I did on Sunday was partly to explore an old mill which I did and posted a pic of the mill race elsewhere. Another reason was to look at an old oak tree that was damaged in the storms we had late last year and early this year which I'll post on a thread that I plan to start.
However I didn't stop at the oak tree but carried on until I came to this ruin of a cottage, quite a distance from other properties and in the middle of a field. Apparently it's many years since it was habitable but the last occupant was an old man who made nails. No one knows where he got his materials but I'd love to know more about his life.

Wow they are adventurous walks @Kili

I like this walk as it's only minutes from home and the woodlands are so varied and interesting.

Wow @uff that's a beautiful walk I'm envious of that one what a special place that must be where is it?

Yes I've been very lucky. I've been able to trek through Zambia, Tanzania ( Up Kilimanjaro twice for charity), Morocco, the Pyrenees, the alp's and quite a few more but, sadly for me those walks and climbs are over now due to the wife becoming ill and not being able to travel and the poor girl having me as the sole cook and carer so I travel the world via Google maps and street walk now lol..

I think I might have mentioned before that I like trees, actually I said that trees are my passion.

The picture above is literally 2 mins from from where I live and the woods are full of so many different kinds of trees that every season is a joy to walk in them. There are burns (streams) and lochs, meandering paths and at the top of the hill views to set pulses racing. The pic below is of the river running through the woodlands which is more formal than the burns which I prefer.

I like that pansyface, it's a photo that gives a feeling of peace and I've just realised why I feel so comfortable living where I do. If I walk a few yards up the hill from my garden it looks like Derbyshire.

This is in Norfolk, where OH lives, where I walked last month. We are in Dordogne, where I live, now and I am going on a walk with friends tomorrow so I should be able to post Dordogne photos tomorrow. It will probaby rain.
