I've been out scraping the OH's car and getting it warm so she can take eldest to work. However, the brakes appear to be frozen :o So I repeated on eldest's car to get them on their way. Walked round to the grit bin for another bucketful and now back in the CA. I wonder what will happen nex......zzz

    Morning all.

    It's been raining.

The postman, except she was a postwoman, turned up this morning when I was still drinking coffee in bed. She rang the bell on the electric gate so I was able to open up for her. Postman usually comes around 11am. Anyway, she had my photo album and several Christmas cards from the UK. I think they must have just renewed the ink when they did the album so it's not as good as usual but it's OK.

We are going to Lidl as OH wants to buy wine to take to England. The allowance is a lot less since Brexit, but enough for us. The problem is coming back. They don't have sherry in France and all my children want it and so do we and 4L is now the limit.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Could you get away with pretending you haven't been back to England @Busy-Lizzie? ;)Β

Seems like our fleet of cars are jumping on the cost-of-living bandwagon. Just been quoted Β£861 to replace a windscreen. Not claimable through the insurance (damage is on the inside) apparently. Anybody got any recent experience of getting this done a tad more cheaply?

    Good morning,
Once more it’s very frosty and cold with a lovely blue sky. It was the last Pilates session before Christmas today, but our teacher is going to send some routines to us to do over the festive season if we feel inclined to do so.
OH has done the supermarket run so that’s out of the way. I think it will be fairly lazy for the rest of the day.
    Take care all.
  • A brisk walk to the charity clothes pod to deposit and a walk back. Β So cold it pinches and made my eyes water. Β Biglad glad you managed to send your brood on their way. Β LB hope you’ll soon be over your cold, plenty of warm drinks and food. Β Hazel hope the rash is going, depending on what it is you can take antihistamine. Β

Hello all another busy day at work but a little better. Off out with oldest daughter later to a carol concert at a local stately home. Should be very festive!Β
This cold is a nasty one and sore throats are prevalent but it’s pretty short lived. Thomas is now much better and his mom rather regrets being frightened into putting him onto antibiotics as she was hoping to avoid them until he is 3.Β

    Afternoon all.

LB, sorry to hear that you caught a cold. Hope it will soon pass, and you will be fit and ready for holidays.

Didn't see Hazel today. Hope she is ok.Β

I can now sit down and relax. I'm over with all chores for today. It was grey and very humid day. At least it's much warmer, but for weekend we can expect another round of snow. I was at SM, but didn't find little tree. There was only lot of them covered with fake snow. One workers said that next week they will have more normal ones for sale.Β

Good afternoon all. Busy, I am glad to read that your album was delivered properly for you today and that spared you a trip to the Post Office. I never realised that you couldn't get sherry in France. You'll just have to invite all of the family around when you get back with the sherry on your return visit. When are you due back to England?
Red maple, I don't know whether I would feel inclined to do exercises at home. I think there is more motivation in a class although SGL's OH enjoyed his live zoom Pilates classes on a Wednesday.
Debs, a carol concert sounds lovely. Maybe there will be mulled wine and mince pies. Its good to hear Thomas is recovering.
Well done Rosie for doing a good recycle trip. It is quite pleasant walking in the sun despite the cold. I went to the postbox up the lane yesterday (probably didn't do my cold any good) to post a birthday card to one of my great nephews. I put on my walking boots and they cope really well with the frozen snow so the walk was most enjoyable. I know the postal workers were on strike again today so I'm hoping the birthday card (posted early) was picked up yesterday afternoon.
Ante, I really wish that they wouldn't spray those little trees with fake snow - it's no good for them. I rescued one 2 years ago and washed all the fake snow off. It is about 60cms high now - still in the bigger pot I transplanted it into. Maybe next year I could bring that inside. I might even think about it tomorrow. πŸ€”
p.s. meant to add that Hazel wasn't around yesterday either so I hope all is OK with her.

Hi folks. Just a quick post to say all is well here but we've just been so busy this week and we are totally shattered. Haven't Β had the energy to post or keep up.Β

Will catch up later. Take care everyone. Hope all is well with you.
