Good morning early bird Rosie and everyone. The least said about last night the better. The team I fill in for told me that last night's score was the lowest they had ever had - probably my fault I will console myself when I watch Only Connect later! I still enjoyed it but was very late home.
Ante, go for the little tree. It can always go in your garden after Christmas.
Good luck with trying to get an appointment Hazel.
No RedM yesterday hope all is well there. I wonder if Biglad will still be glued to the World Cup or whether the playroom is taking up more of his time. Hello Yvie if you get chance to look in.

Good morning all. Another hectic day at work yesterday lots of issues with antibiotics and children not helped by doctors being unaware of the supply issues and prescribing unobtainable drugs!ย
Thomas is poorly with a throat infection and daughter actually rang me while in consultation with the doctor because I had pre warned her that phenoxymehylpenicillin is not available anywhere here. Doctor was asking me what was available but surely all GPs should be aware rather than sending away parents with poorly children to chase around trying to get medication. We have had mothers in tears in the shop with screaming children and no way of helping them itโ€™s very distressing for everyone.ย
Day off today lots of errands to run and we have to visit fiancรฉs family in Telford with cards and presents. Wish me luck!ย

Goods morning Debs. What a total nightmare for families and pharmacies. I cannot even imagine how dreadful it must be. Good luck with all your errands and visit.

Good morning Rosie, LB, debs and all to follow.

Rosie, hope you were back to sleep last night. I slept quite well, regardless my cats decided to take the bed before me.ย

LB, I'll certainly go back for little tree. I bought beautiful potted one last Friday, but this one can be for my desk or counter.ย

Debs, sorry to hear that Thomas is poorly. Hope he will soon get better. You really have a hard time at work. Enjoy your free day, and at visit to Telford.

Must soon get out. It's below zero and it's icy. My plan is to go to the cottage with Max after school, but doubt that road will be clean of snow and ice.ย
    Have a nice and warm day.ย  ย

Good morning Ante. Big night tonight for your team. It is icy and frosty here also so I really must get organised with my decorations today. More tea required first though.

    Morning all.

    The snow turned into rain.

@debs64. I expect the doctors are rushed off their feet with seeing patients with winter ailments, probably haven't time to research into available drugs.

I must finish my French cards, do the thing with the hot flat wotsit, mend OH's jumper and wrap presents, same tomorrow. Also fetch decorations from the loft. I hate the loft, going up the ladder, too low to stand upright, freezing cold.

Morning all. Thick blanket of freezing fog has greeted us this morning. This is the coldest it's been since we moved here and the worst. Thankfully, blackbird has found the mealy worms I put out yesterday and he's gormandized them all nearly! We really need to pop to local Te**o but not sure I want to venture out in this cold.
LB, impossible to get through to docs these days, may do an E- Consult after 1pm. They are usually pretty quick off the mark to answer them. Filling in the form is a nightmare though.
Hope Rosie has got back to sleep.
Debs, times just seem to be getting worse and worse across every sphere of life now. I think we are imploding slowly.Take care and enjoy your visit later on.
Rubee, have you heard how your friend is? Fingers crossed she is coping. My OH received a message last night telling him that yet another of his old work colleagues has passed away. He was very sad and shocked too, the chap wasn't much older than OH.
    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning all,

Very slightly milder today but we still have a frost. The sun made a brief attempt to shine earlier but it has disappeared once more.
Forgot to post yesterday, got carried away with other things - it was the coffee morning group Christmas party, then when I got back I helped OH cook the Dundee cake - heโ€™d made it, but wasnโ€™t sure about timings, etc. The first time heโ€™s made it, and it looks very nice (I usually do it, but he wanted to have a go). Weโ€™ll give it an extra feed of whiskey next week, and then itโ€™ll be ready for Christmas.

Today, we are going out to our local GC for Christmas lunch. We booked it some weeks ago, and are looking forward to it.

I think you should treat yourself to the little tree, @Ante1. It will look very festive.
Hope the doctor sorts your rash out @Songbird-2 and sorry to hear about your OH colleague.ย

Iโ€™d better use that flat hot thing today, but it can wait until I get back from lunch, or maybe even until tomorrowโ€ฆ๐Ÿ˜…

Take care everyone and to all with ailments, I hope you feel a little better today.

@Busy-Lizzie at the surgery my sister works at which is extremely busy itโ€™s the job of one receptionist to ring around every morning to check which pharmacy has which antibiotics in stock which is then put onto a group message for doctors. It can be done and saves so much time and stress for everyone including the doctors. In my opinion prescribing antibiotics which are unavailable is not doing your job properly and they cannot be unaware of the present desperate situation. Their role is to help people get better, they need to be aware of what tools are available to do that.ย
Rant over! Itโ€™s just very difficult watching a young mother crying with a small child and being unable to help.ย
