Love the cartoon Debs - cats do that don't they????
Rubee - so sorry to hear about your friend - what a shock for you. Very worrying that she has no recollections around the event - I can understand why you are so concerned about her. Fingers crossed she makes a good recovery.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Rubee, so sorry to read about your friend. Hope she recovers soon, and recollect memory from that day.
Debs, lovely cartoon. Aren't they lovely creatures.
LB, I'm sorry, somehow I overlooked your question about my school break. We have school until December 23rd, and pupils will come back On January 9th.
I have my tea, and preparing myself to go out. It's very cold, only 1℃, but no too much snow on the ground. It will be better to walk to school, it's not far.
Good morning all. Lovely day yesterday with a festive afternoon tea and seeing old friends.
Watched The Grinch with granddaughter not seen it before but not too bad. I am not a Jim Carey fan. Granddaughter full of a cold bless her everyone is poorly at the moment. At work it feels as if all we do is make up antibiotics. It’s like working in a cocktail bar!
@Rubee hope your friend makes a speedy recovery how shocking for everyone involved.
Good morning everyone . Thank you for your kind words .I was very shocked yesterday . I am hoping my friend copes . I thought I had wrapped all my gifts .Just found 2 more that I need to wrap.I hope I have written all my cards . I posted several last week .
Ante take care and have a good day . Debs watching children’s movies with the little ones is one of my happiest memories. So pleased that you had a good time yesterday.Sorry to read that everyone is poorly .I hope they are recovered before Christmas . Do take care if you are going out friends ,it’s very bad underfoot here .
A very good morning T'Bird (only just!), Debs, Ante and Ruby.
Debs, that is a BRILLIANT cartoon and brought a smile to my face this cold and frosty morning. Lily has her own door but if I'm in the kitchen she will sit by the door and look up at me. Do I ignore her? Not on your life. I go and open the door for her!
It has taken my neighbour 20 minutes to thaw out his car to go to work but he did make, what to me, was a cardinal error in pouring water over his windscreen. Then he went to get his partner to come and help him and she was in her nightwear so can't have been very warm. He finally got moving and had to avoid the cars I mentioned yesterday. I sound just like a curtain twitcher here but I couldn't help but see all this activity - through my landing window as I was going up and down stairs and even through the frosted glass in my front door as their movements kept turning on both our security lights. I am not going any further than my dustbins today. It is the start of my decorating.
Ruby, I was so sad to read about your close friend. How very scary and worrying that incident must be for her, her family and her friends. I hope that she recovers eventually. Please don't hesitate about mentioning things like that. From my own recent experience I have found it just the very best place to offload. Whether it has anything to do with the fact we are 'virtual' friends but it has now been years that we have been chatting. A little like our schooldays penpals.
Hazel, I went across to see Jack on Saturday after I got back from the Christmas Fayre preparation. I couldn't help but look for signs of Kitty and feel sad that I didn't get the little 'brrrp' of a greeting before she landed on my knee. Jack seems settled now and is so pleased that his second cataract operation has given him a much clearer vision.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
By the way Debs. Like you, I am not a fan of Jim Carey at all. In fact, I avoid any films he is in but I can understand you keeping your granddaughter company whilst she watched The Grinch. Small people seem to like that movie. I have to add that my Bestie's 40 something daughter is a fan too!

He wasn’t too bad as it’s a cartoon style character so all his silly mannerisms seemed part of the character but usually I avoid him in movies.
Cold here but not frosty we have more snow forecast I think te**o had bags of rock salt for sale I am tempted to get a bag just to clear path to bird feeders. Am I the only one to pop out in dressing gown and slippers first thing to top them up? Fiance home for a few days so at least I don’t have to struggle with unreliable buses at the moment.
Morning all. I think it hasn't been as cold overnight here as the other night. Bird baths not frozen over, could get in the greenhouse without the use,of warm water so I'm very thankful for that. It's still freezing cold though, just not as bad. I must get the flat hot thing out today, I have got so lazy with this task recently but needs must today so I must strike whilst the iron's got!😂🤭 Rubee, I hope you managed some sleep last night. Debs, I saw The grinch many moons ago and The Mask with Jim Carey in them. They were ok but I'm not really a fan of comedies so I wouldn't watch them again. LB, thankfully Jack is ok and I'm so pleased the operations have worked so well for him. Even after my dad had his done, he reverted back, eventually, to wearing his glasses. Must say I'd probably be the same, I would feel quite naked without my glasses. ( think I've said that before😬). Our internet is dreadfully slow at the moment, it's taking me ages to get into sites....must be the weather. Have a nice day everyone.
LB I also avoid Jim Carey films. A nip in the air today but no snow. Biglad you’re baking should be fine. LB I’m sure you and Jack will miss little cat and the delight a cat can bring. It was sad to hear Ruth Madoc had passed recently Hazel. Ante enjoy your time at school. Rubee I hope your friend makes a good recovery and is well cared for by her morning visitor carer.
