@WhereAreMySecateurs Talking of Dahlias, when I was at Wisley Dahlia trials, 'Honka' really caught my eye, the yellow one, I know it's popular now. It also comes in a darker version called 'Verrone's Obsidian', which looks just gorgeous, as well as a pink one..
They're gorgeous! The pink one is especially wow. I didn't get a honka type just because I get unnerved by eight-legged things and therefore things that have eight long petals... and tops of tomato plants... it's a bit of a nuisance, lol. But I got more of the beautiful little collarette types, Night Butterfly and Teesbrooke Audrey, and some more Thomas Edisons as I gave mine away last year. Hope @Fire does her beautiful dahlia thread again this coming year.
Still thinking about that Pittosporum! They also have a rhododendron I really do need.:/
Its one out, 4 in right?... Have hauled out waltz time and some dead shrubs etc and my ceonothus is going (rehoming) - getting scratty needs rejuvinating, blue dosent really 'go' and its taking a lot of space.
My final choices, with where they are going (new rule!!) Courtesy of Trevors sale. His were best price even with the other sales...
Peachmelba - other side of the obelisk in right hand bed, opposite wild rover Spectablis - down the right side in raised bed (over ground though) in a shadieŕ spot, next to my evergreen clematis and one of my hounds memorial trees, a patio almond. Lemon balm there coming out and into a pot. Summer wine - totally naughty purchase, not seen this pretty one before but up the fence in left bed by lady of shalott where its a bit bare on fence. Violette - not seen this before, but pretty shortish climber, left side of my arbour with some metal support as ive just pulled out a huge lavender and the amethyst falls opposite is dying. Thornless so I wont spike myself feeding the birds
@pitter-patter I'm not surprised you had some of my favourite Dahlias.. you seem to have so many plants in your garden that I like.. Really lovely photos, it's got me thinking I want them again, so I've just been looking up Farmer Gracy..
@JessicaS, I just looked up Violette, how pretty is that? May your Peach Melba blooms be as gorgeous as @pitter-patter's.
Farmer Gracy do have free shipping over £50, so it is a good way to save money, @Marlorena.😁 I got Gracied, actually. Their geraniums are £5 each, so not a terrible price. Only went on the site to see if they sold nerines!

@zugenie I know what you mean about a good GC. Shame about your dahlias. 😔

Did you order any of these by chance?
I’ve lost all my dahlias too. They were overwintering in the shed and I guess the cold and humidity has been too much for them.
I can vouch for the beauty and reliability of Honka dahlias. The pink one especially has done very well in my garden.
Mine was my own laziness, left them in the ground but never bothered to mulch them, the last lot of frost got them!
