That yellow aquilegia with the long spurs is gorgeous. Aquilegias are another plant I can’t seem to grow here. Hopefully it was only the dry spring we had last year.
I don’t have many white roses. I have Starlight Symphony at the front and that doesn’t really get photographed.
I also have Medeo, probably growing too large for the urn this year. I’m not sure I want to keep it either. It’s been sent by accident by TCL.
nice summer pics edhelka.. is that alstromeria Indian summer in the first pic.. like how the colour shifts from it and the orange colour of the rose to the violet/ mauve shades..
you are right @Lizzie27 Marlorena has combined those roses and perennials wonderfully.. and please take another pic in summer to compare the snow shot to summer green shot...
@pitter-patter that starlight is posing like a model.. I would say you are gifted.. I don't think I would have been able to appreciate that rose better if it was grown elsewhere..
@cooldoc That's nothing at all to worry about, I guarantee your roses will be just fine after the melt.. at least they won't want watering for a bit.. Remember, Scotland gets it much worse than us, yet in summer you can see beautiful roses in the north of Scotland.. they just flower a bit later.. Snow insulates... freezing wind without snow cover is much more damaging..
@edhelka Nice to see your garden garden, Albrighton Rambler looks the best I've seen it..
Impressive snowy shots juxtaposed with sunny summer gardens!
I don’t have many white roses but this year I’m trying Boule de Neige, Vichy and have a replacement Souvenir de St Anne’s. The last SdSA was eaten by the fig tree, but I’ve reinforced the root barrier since so hoping this one does better. I also have a Blush Noisette to finally plant out.
My best white is probably Marie Pavie, like BN it loses it’s blush tones rapidly:
Dominique Loiseau is quite pretty, but a surprisingly feeble grower for a Delbard:
Madame Hardy was a healthy and gorgeous-looking white, but I no longer have it as the scent was disappointing and the delicate petals spoilt in the slightest rain:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

I also love that combination of rose and urn @pitter-patter. I'd keep it in that pot.
Claire Austin
And a snowy pic this morning.
Thank you... outstanding countryside views from your garden..
I also love that Medeo, I've said it before I think it's totally gorgeous..
@cooldoc
I hope to see your snowy pots tomorrow - please don't be shy..

@edhelka is that Digitalis-Firebird in your pic? does it grow as a perennial for you? Mine looks pretty dead at the moment..
