I’ve come to appreciate soft peach/apricot/gold tones and don’t even mind a little pink in there, just as well since otherwise more vibrant colours are often washed out or highly mutable here. The curse of coral rules out most strong orange roses so Alexander has gone and Super Trooper is being relegated to the rose graveyard - otherwise known as OH’s garden office. I’m still intent on getting Versigny and might try Natalija too after admiring cooldoc and jessica’s.

Great idea Cooldoc, what a wonderful finale to the thread, is it just purple and lilac left? While apricot is a favourite rose colour of mine, orange and peach aren't. These are everything I have.

Has anyone any experience of Roald Dahl? I quite like it and I’ve a spot where I’d like to put a good bushy rose outside my shed. I like his red buds and how they change through to those lovely apricot flowers.
The spot has conditions that can vary alot. Full sun in the morning to dappled shade in the afternoon to full shade in the evening. The grass that’s currently there can dry out in hot dry spells like last July, but normally isn’t bad. It’s rudely healthy at the moment even though it was almost dead last august.

there is a concrete shed base and a hedge nearby.
I forgot to include Buff Beauty in the softie parade, here showing marked colour difference:
@ciaranmcgrenera, there was a recent thread about Roald Dahl versus Judy Dench that may be of interest.. https://forum.gardenersworld.com/discussion/1071212/dame-judi-dench-v-roald-dahl/p1
