I really like hostas, but our garden in Norfolk is quite shady. Roses are in the sunnier places, hostas in the shade. Luckily there aren't many slugs. My garden in France is much sunnier, only 1 hosta and I've been planting lots of roses.

    Love the dog photos.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

If it makes you feel better @owd potter I bought some from them in March last year and they stayed small and took ages to unchill and grow. Whereas the three I got from PB in November are probably about where my March-planted ones were last June(?).
  • Thanks @WAMS, it's a soothing balm to my furrowed brow.
I had a split planting season with DA roses a couple of years ago, the April planted ones were about 1 month behind the Nov planted ones for new growth but both lots were in flower by end of June.
But if only a specific variety will do, then you have to get it while you can or flirt with it being OOS or worse still, retired!!!

    that's creative @Nollie

@WAMS I must admit that it took me a few secs to get the PB connection to pillow :D

that rose offer is tempting  @owd potter but space is an issue now..
Last year this day I had received my new DA roses.. no signs of new release from them yet..

I'm more impressed by your clean pair of gloves @Mr. Vine Eye .. reminds me to get a new pair, I must have had mine some 10 years..

Expert hairdresser @Nollie  I had to look several times at that..
