    @edhelka - I was thinking yesterday, that PAOK could easily have been in there, if only mine was in a better position. I’ve got her in a spot that she obviously doesn’t agree with. I only got a few flowers last year.
    I would say that PAOK is on the list mostly for the size of her blooms. Mine sometimes has a better year, sometimes worse. I would like her to be bushier and flower more. But the blooms are always breathtaking.

    'Amazing Day' has appeared on more than 1 list, .. there must be something special about it..
    I make it my mission to get it to every rose lover's garden. You should check if it lives up to the hype.

    @Alfie_ those roses look very good value and the Jacques Cartier is a much better specimen than the one my daughter ordered on line for a present for me. I've had Charles de Mills, lovely colour and scent but be careful because it can send up suckers, which I think must be why Marlorena said don't plant it deep. Mine got a bit out of control when my huge garden was getting too much for me. Sold now.

    @WAMS - yeh sure, here you go:

    https://www.savinnurseries.co.uk/

    Family run wholesale nursery. Very big and great prices generally. Roses currently £20 for 3 on most of their varieties. Some random ones are £9.95 and not in that deal - I have no idea why. Some of those not in the deal were Mother’s Day ones e.g. Mum in a Million - anyone heard of this one? They had special tags for varieties which are Rose of the Year winners like Peach Melba, Sunny Sky etc but all these are in the deal.

    @Nollie - I had to restrain myself a lot to limit what I got. Your rose bed looks very grand. How many varieties are you going to put in it? Or have you not decided yet. Would love to see pictures of that. Never used pine compost. Is that particularly good for roses?

    @WAMS Yes, it is actually, not this red, but very beautiful foliage on that one as well.

    Another rose with similar coloured foliage - dark and glossy - is 'Oranges 'n Lemons'... if you like this mixed palette..  in fact the foliage colour was the best thing about it for me..

    I wondered if this is a mislabelled oranges and lemons @Marlorena - it was supposed to be Abracadbra but it certainly isnt that, and ive since got a proper Abracadabra which is velvety dark red with bright yellow stripes. This was in the heatwave so its bleached a bit, but its too yellowtinged for raspberry ripple I think?

    I have Oranges and Lemons, it's much brighter than that but does fade a bit. I can't find a decent photo, this will have to do.

    @JessicaS
    You would know if it's Oranges n Lemons by the dark bronze young foliage, it's striking and very attractive...  I found the bloom colour faded to a peaches 'n cream colour, rather than oranges and lemons.. as in your photos.. but those would be faded blooms, they always opened very orange and very lemon.. as in Busy Lizzie's photo..

    If you got yours from Style Roses, they have a number of roses very similar with these stripey patterns... the one you have looks more like 'Claude Monet'..
