Dogfest, excellent, I love the doggy steps for easy sofa access @JessicaS. Perhaps one day Smudge will be content to accompany me in the garden and just watch, instead of pouncing on everything in sight. She is also a plastic lover, having discovered my stash of pots in the poly they are diminishing by the day.

I’m not a fan of hostas, they would look too alien in my environment, but don’t mind the odd iris.

Thanks @Imprevu, I had a feeling ECIV might not be heat tolerant, it was a bit of a risky purchase. It’s in a big black nursery pot for now and might be destined for the north-east corner of the house. If it hates it here I’ll send it to you 😊

@owd potter 😄 I'm tempted; not ordered any yet. Probably will wait for 50% off.

@Mr. Vine Eye I grew Dutch iris 2 years ago, not even a single one returned next year. Does having an Iris pseudacorus and an Iris foetidissima count? I never planted them.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

  • I've just had a scamper through the list and, Oh dear, I have spaces to fill....
I really should have learned by now. They have 4 of the 5 bare roots I bought in Nov, could have saved around £25.
Just another day at the plant...
