Chance to win a £50 voucher but you can also sign up to be part of their customer panel going forwards, you can all campaign for a new red rose 😆
@Mr. Vine Eye haha, oh I understand that, my partner at least does acknowledge that I make a very beautiful garden, and it means I have full creative control
So many gorgeous dogs, here’s my little “helper” he knows he’s not supposed to be on the border 🙄
@Marlorena You might just be able to see there’s some good growth from the base of blue moon (on the right), once the overnight temps are up a bit I’m going to cut it right back like you said!
A partner who also enjoys our roses is not an easy find, and perhaps best not found, so we can have the entire garden project all to ourselves..
I'm out to impress @Mr. Vine Eye with my vast Iris collection, which amounts to 2 plants.. Iris are another I have issues with, short season and awful foliage.. except one..
Iris pallida 'Argentea Variegata', which has the most beautiful foliage lasting all summer into autumn.. the flowers I think are too large for the plant, but it enjoys hot dry conditions in full sun.. gravel banks etc..
'Benton Storrington' is more typical.. best part are the very dark buds I think.. quite tall, I have to stake it..
I also have a white one which hasn't flowered yet.. can't wait [rolls eyes]..
Dogfest, excellent, I love the doggy steps for easy sofa access @JessicaS. Perhaps one day Smudge will be content to accompany me in the garden and just watch, instead of pouncing on everything in sight. She is also a plastic lover, having discovered my stash of pots in the poly they are diminishing by the day.
I’m not a fan of hostas, they would look too alien in my environment, but don’t mind the odd iris.
Thanks @Imprevu, I had a feeling ECIV might not be heat tolerant, it was a bit of a risky purchase. It’s in a big black nursery pot for now and might be destined for the north-east corner of the house. If it hates it here I’ll send it to you 😊
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@owd potter 😄 I'm tempted; not ordered any yet. Probably will wait for 50% off.
@Mr. Vine Eye I grew Dutch iris 2 years ago, not even a single one returned next year. Does having an Iris pseudacorus and an Iris foetidissima count? I never planted them.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
I've just had a scamper through the list and, Oh dear, I have spaces to fill.... I really should have learned by now. They have 4 of the 5 bare roots I bought in Nov, could have saved around £25.

Quick tip for other dog owners... Peter Beales sell the most supremely comfortable canine pillows.
@Zugenie, love the dog on the flower garden. My dog does that but closes her eyes so we can't see her.
@zugenie
He's a cutie too.. and eyeing up your Hellebore by the looks of things..
Yes Blue Moon shooting out, a nice cut back would benefit I think..

Anyone with a low temptation resistance threshold look away now...
