Nice roses @Eustace  see what you think of 'Midnight Blue'.. I had it once, and loved it one day, and not so much the next...  but it did improve with age and produced lots of blooms in the first season..

Really dark blue on that Iris.. I used to have 'Clairette', similar to that..

I've never liked Iris too much, Hostas even less especially those yellowy ones, but I've got some bearded Iris for this year... they get blown over here with the gales..

Thanks @Marlorena. I think it is very easy to infer from my list whom I'm following :)

And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

Such a buzz at this time of year with everything leafing out.. all that promise.

I have a new standard Empereur Charles IV this year @Eustace so look forward to comparing notes! I’ve a feeling mine might have to live in no more than a few hours of morning sun here. I also have a new Royal Celebration, which I think was inspired by yours..

@Eustace be happy Marlorena did not suggest a rose to you.. she did to me and I kept researching and got obsessed with it... :p

I am happy that I got decent rain here for two days as they predicted a relatively dry climate.. and then today as well it drizzled for a while..

    these dog pics are.... <3

    Thanks for the advice, everyone.

Beautiful iris, @Mr. Vine Eye... I forgot I was given some last autumn. Just checked and yes, there are the lovely sets of three spikes just emerging. Exciting!

Also dislike hostas for some reason, @Marlorena. Kept one as slug fodder for a while and it was good for that.😁

Would Daffodils bloom if I plant them now? had planted 3 bulbs which was given by a friend who did not have access to a garden.. and would anyone suggest sowing perennial seeds directly onto the ground? Thought I could avoid the hassle of transplanting seedlings later..

Too late for Daffodils, I've planted Tulips this late and they still flower..

As for perennials, depends which ones they are @cooldoc  ? does it say on the packet?
