I'm a fan of Valentina Lisitsa - mostly because she's friendly, chatty and seems a really nice person - she often performs impromptu recitals at railway stations.
What a really nice thing to do.
I enjoyed listening to her playing Metamorphosis 2.
I think if she sees a piano anywhere she just starts playing it 😁

Something peaceful for a Sunday morning.
One of Mozart's friends lost their baby and asked Mozart if he would write a little piece  for them.
Typical Mozart, so simple yet so beautiful

Southern man, better keep your head
Don't forget what your good book said
Southern change gonna come at last
Now your crosses are burning fast
    Southern man
I saw cotton and I saw black
Tall white mansions and little shacks
Southern man, when will you pay them back?
I heard screamin' and bullwhips cracking
    How long? How long? How?
Southern man, better keep your head
Don't forget what your good book said
Southern change gonna come at last
Now your crosses are burning fast
    Southern man
Lily Belle, your hair is golden brown
I've seen your black man comin' round
Swear by God I'm gonna cut him down
I heard screamin' and bullwhips cracking
    How long? How long? How?

    Beautiful indeed.
I read that the Caroline Dale piece, 'At the Violet Hour' was written for a similar reason.
    Music to comfort and soothe.

That's such a tranquil and soothing piece of music - thanks for posting. Not sure way but it vaguely reminds me of Arvo Part
Will listen to more of her performances.

This is a great thread - I'm finding much music I like but have never heard before.

I think I've posted 4 on here @Pete.8 all from her album 'Such Sweet Thunder'. I love it for the titles as much as the music! 😊
There are some classical pieces on it too if I remember rightly.

    Thanks @Woodgreen
I'm listening to the album on YouTube :)

  • My OH was waiting to pick me up in Leeds where Neil Young was playing a while back. He heard people who were coming out after the concert finished, absolutely buzzing... saying Southern Man, which Young had just finished playing as an encore, was the best he'd ever played. They were right.
Thanks for posting that version, @punkdoc
