Not like sacking a train driver I suppose. Ticket collectors probably don't need a lot of training and are easy to replace.
That ticket collector you want to replace might be married with 2 or 3 kids, and just about managing to pay their rent or mortgage. Are you comfortable with possibly making them homeless?
As I was saying.... friend has booked her jab almost 20 miles away,on the 1.10, now the trains are on strike. Now, am I going to offer to drive her to somewhere I don't know, almost 40 miles worth of fuel and likely parking charges.... knowing full well she won't offer any money. Her husband works for a company that does work on the rail electric system, get very good money, her money is all hers,to spend on herself,no kids, mortgage paid off. She doesn't want to bother him, asking for a lift!
Don’t don’t offer @NannyBeach. I know it might sound mean, but in truth it sounds as if you would be seriously out of pocket if you did take her and that she would be taking advantage of your good nature.
It's a difficult moral question. Ah, have just found out the reluctance to mention appointment, she works in a care home...has to have the jab,he said after the first 2,he's not having anymore. He's had Covid several times and been pretty ill. Funnily enough,he said he gave up smoking 2 years ago,my hubby has seen him smoking down the shed,AND his car smells like an ashtray,if you're a non smoker, you can really smell it. Possibly be very busy on the 1st!!!
I like your style cheeky Hosta 😁. Remember when I was running round an elderly friend, for a few years, doing his shopping, hospital,Drs appointments, then it got out of hand, with the money owed. He actually died a couple of months ago.... his son didn't even bother to tell me.
